Don't get me wrong, Trove is an amazing game.
It is really fun if you play it with your friends, but playing solo isn't such a bad experience either.
But the negatives just outweigh the positives:
- The devs care more about milking the game than making the playerbase happy. The shop items and packs are overpriced and the game is overall pay to win, especially in the endgame. You can get around the p2w wall by grinding for thousands of hours in hopes of getting a lucky gem drop, but it's practically impossible to outshine p2p players.
- The endgame is extremely boring. Once you get into Trove, the game is super fun and addictive, but as you get further and further into the game, you realize that the endgame becomes a routine of grinding and doing weekly contests in hopes of reducing the time needed to grind..
- The performance of the game is awful. Constant rubberbanding and low fps, even on an amazing setup. The more updates the game gets, the worse the performance gets. It's quite sad that a voxel game like this is so straining and unoptimized.
I would not recommend people to start playing this game in it's current state. Maybe in the future when the game starts dying the devs will realise and start going in the right direction.
