This game has meatballs in the spaghetti and it's mom's spaghetti. Do not miss your opportunity.

Seems kinda fun so far.

~Edit after 2700 hours
I feel deeply saddened that I have the urge to click the "no" button but I simply cannot recommend this to new players anymore. I have high hopes for the future of this game and we can only hope things will turn around, but right now I cannot in good conscience recommend this to other people. I can list my reasons but I'm going to be brief.

1. The game is f2p but really you do have to buy stash tabs and innate cosmetics on items are so bad you will be more or less compelled to at least get one skin. Its probably more like a ~60 dollar game, this isn't a big issue but it may be misleading to new players.
2. The game requires you to have a PHD in Path of Exile game mechanics. You can tell I've played a lot of hours, but I couldn't even begin to tell a new player how to make a good rare item in path of exile because there are about 12 different game mechanics from different content spread throughout the end game that are required to produce such a good item, sometimes these are BUILD-ENABLING types of crafts, so it is almost unforgivable that it is so complicated to master. This is both the best part of path of exile and its greatest crutch. I love being able to almost endlessly min-max a build, but I do not love that it is just so unforgiveably difficult to put everything together.
3. The game is going to kill you. Play Softcore, or suffer. Sometimes there are one-shots you will take that the devs can't even explain. Bosses are tough, but for some reason random unique and rare enemies in end-game maps will just kill you without explanation. Take it as you will, this is the way of PoE it seems.
4. The game is arguably too fast paced and mechanically intense. You can play this game slowly, but you may find yourself feeling a bit inadequate in the game economy if you do. On top of this you are going to have to learn dozens of different mechanics that have been added over the years, all of which are probably going to kill you.

I think thats it. I just can't enjoy the game for very long anymore, there is far too much going on. It has become a thousand mile wide ocean thats only as deep as the amount of hours you're ready to burn... and the amount of hours the dev wants you to put in to conquer the content have become increasingly higher over the years.

Final thought; It's a game that truly has a ton of merit, but needs to be slowed down and condensed into a less dizzying experience.

Edit Again: My review becomes bipolar with the absolute reversal. Game is good but I think you have to put more focus toward doing aspects of the game you find fun (Delve for example for me)..

Very solid game that scratches the "Monster Hunter" itch. For big fans of Monster Hunter World, though, you may find the difference a bit jarring as the combat system is not quite as tuned as Monster Hunter, but still fun. For people who have tried the past GE titles, this game is much better from a modernized perspective. The old games truly felt like handheld ports while this game actually feels like a PC/Console game. I felt it was worth the time and money and will likely come back to it later as they add more content (which I believe is expected to be free content).

When I bought the game I really thought I wouldn't get as much play time out of it as I did and there is still some more content I could run through. The weapon systems are relatively in-depth and each weapon (though I've only played 3 of them) feels unique in it's own way and has a bit of a different playstyle.

The only downside for me is that once you optimize a build, the combat does feel a bit 'spammy' and more like a button masher than games like MH which sometimes takes a bit more precise input. Additionally, the game is less about exploration and "Hunting" and is much better described as an action combat title, which is much faster-paced than other similar games.

All in all the game is worth it's value and for anyone who enjoy's hunting games this is a solid addition to your collection.

This game had some serious potential but with a very poor monetization model and some clear difficulty balancing the game it took less than a month for the game to be almost completely dead. Valve needs a rework on this thing like a full year ago. Lets get it goin Valve, you have the potential you just need a better baseline and a lower greed threshold.

An excellent game. It starts off a little slow, but picks up quite nicely. The combat is engaging for a turn-based JRPG and even without any of the "Draconian Quests" which add difficulty tweaks to the game (such as more difficult monsters) the game is still challenging. Most of the story line battles can be beaten in a similar fashion as long as you have a decent strategy going in, but the game has a rich end-game which goes well beyond what you'd expect as you finish the main story quest.

With all that said, people who aren't fans of turn-based JRPG's might not enjoy, but if you even remotely consider yourself a fan of turn-based RPG's this is a must-try.

It's kind of funny seeing all the negative reviews for this excellent game. The PC port has had a very mildly rocky start with some DRM issues (which were fixed day 1) and some server issues (which were STEAM-related and are actively being fixed). There was also a horrible Nvidia driver released which murdered the games performance, which by my count was not at al the developers fault. All of these factors combined leaves a bunch of whiny children writing negative reviews.

This is an excellent game. It runs like a dream as long as you aren't using the unoptimized garbage of a driver update by Nvidia and don't have a PC from the 90s. It's such a sad sight to see that less than half of the reviews are negative for a game which got raving critic scores on PS4, all because of a few minor issues, most of which were outside of the developers control. 100% recommend this game. If you have any soul do not listen to the negative reviews of this game, instead, go check out some youtube videos.

Oh and the "Final boss corrupts my save" shenanigans are completely false. There is a glitch with some PC settings that causes the game to crash whenever the final cutscene plays, it affects an extremely small number of players and backing up your save is ridiculously easy. Not to mention it does not corrupt the save, it just has to be bypassed either by using another PC or fixing the PC in question.

tl;dr people bashing a game for their own PC's performance issues. Good game.

Had a tough day at work? Well that sucks for you. Get good and buckle up, scrub. You're about embark on a journey of unimagined nightmares. The creatures in Dark Souls 3 are awaiting your arrival, patiently plotting your murder, unapologetically scheming your demise by whatever means necessary.

I know you're thinking, "Oh this can't be that difficult, right?" Hell, you may be one of the talented ones, a prodigy. You may breeze through the game like it was all some kind of sick joke by the community. Maybe the AI isn't challenging enough, a bunch of lambs to your slaughter... But wait... You're not alone out now. Someone else is watching you, stalking you... Why are they glowing red? I'd love to help you, to tell you more, but alas I'm going hollow. I've used my last ember. You're on your own now. Good luck, skeleton.
