A poetic narrative about the creation of the universe, Genesis Noir is a non-traditional adventure on a grand scale stretching from the beginning to the end of all things that still finds time for the moments that make life worth celebrating. A soulful journey worth taking.

A bite-sized point and click adventure, Blood Nova packs a tremendous amount of sci-fi fantasy world building into its short playtime. The writing is great, a blend of Douglas Adams and Frank Herbert in its inspirations, and delivers some wonderful character moments. The pixel art, with its dreamlike colour palette, is as expressive as it is beautiful. Big recommend for any adventure game fans.

Short and sweet, this is a fantastic visual adventure with a wonderfully weird art style and a multifaceted view of a single evening in a bad neighbourhood. Big recommend if you enjoy narrative adventures.

This game is absolutely fascinating, and pushes the boundaries of what a visual novel can be. Highly recommended, don't look anything up about it, just enjoy the experience.

Whether or not skewering the colonial approach of late 18th century archaeologists was the intention of the creators, I can’t say for certain. What I can say is that Hob’s Barrow is a great slice of British folk horror, with a compelling story that’s well told and performed to perfection by an excellent voice cast. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

Return to Monkey Island is a fantastic blending of nostalgia and fresh ideas, moving forward while celebrating the past. The jokes are laugh out loud funny, the puzzles interesting without being too far fetched, and both the voice acting and soundtrack are absolutely on point. The visual style is one of the biggest changes, but in motion in the game is far more dynamic and engaging than it might appear in screenshots.

If you're a fan of the franchise, you've probably already bought this. If you've not played the games before, and are interested, Return to Monkey Island works incredibly well as a gateway to the series.

NORCO, by developer/artist collective/terrifically named Geography of Robots, is a bitter sweet Southern Gothic psychodrama about family, capitalism, religion and everything in between. It’s an absolutely masterful use of the point and click format to explore a multifaceted narrative, with a presentation that perfectly recreates the razor thin line between dream, nightmare and reality.

If you can put up with obtuse logic puzzle and a fair amount of pixel hunting for solution crucial items, The Black Mirror is a gothic B-movie game with all the cheesy voice acting and vague threats of Satan worth checking out

A early noughties point and click, Syberia offers almost exactly what you'd expect: a lot of busy pre-rendered backgrounds, puzzles that require the most non-linear of thinking and an incredibly front-loaded plot. But the story takes you to some unique and interesting places and the voice acting is surprisingly solid for almost every character. Definitely worth your time if you are a fan of the genre.

On the surface, Poker Night looks like some terrible fan-fic, but inside you get hilarious dialogue, clever jokes, neat unlocks and just a fantastically fun game.

Also there's some poker, or whatever.
