I picked this up on sale, but it's definitely worth the $7 USD they are asking.

Short game that knows what it wants to be and doesn't overstay that welcome.

Flying Relic + Barbarian Axe. That is all.

Pros:
+Aesthetic is top notch
+Gunplay is solid, everything has a nice feel and sound
+Music is great
+Voice acting is fairly solid
+Combat in general feels great

Cons:
-Red. Red, and More red.
-Some performance issues, including:
--Camera stutter
--Frame freezing
-Offscreen enemies aggro and shoot long before you reasonably can
-Dramatic lighting shifts that hurt
-Raytracing/DLSS don't seem to do anything

The campaign alone is well worth it at the sale prices that are constantly present.

If you want a solid FPS with a decent story line and characters this will definitely fit the bill.

The only thing that stopped my play session was a crash.

I may not have a lot of time in this game but this is the truest PS1/PS2 era WipeOut experience that isn't one of those games. The music is spot on, the game feels like them, and it's everything fans of those games could ask for.

If you loved those games, and feel any sort of nostalgia for them, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.

EDIT:
Decided to give it a try again since I own it and I need something new to do.
It is fundamentally not the game I bought way back when I bought it.
Genuinely unfun and terrible experience. Avoid this game unless your idea of the best time ever is being griefed by players who cheat, are in a large clan, or both.

Little Timmy jumped down the well with boots fire bullets (most of the time).

Pros:
Classes feel different enough from one another once you get a few abilities that it may add some replay value.
Crafting system is pretty solid.

Cons:
Forced to select a class based on a few lines of text before ever having encountered any of the abilities for said classes in any meaningful way.
Cover system is buggy and springy.
You'll often find that the AI shoot through cover while you cannot.
Poor feedback on what's going on around you.
Maps are corridors or "wide open areas with cover points".
AI can spawn from any cover point seemingly at will.
Few customization options.
Gunplay is atrocious and weapons have no real identity except for Pistols and Snipers, but even then it's only because the former is your backup weapon and the latter has a scope.
Forced perspective camera causes "motion sickness" in some players and cannot be disabled.
Difficulty scaling suddenly goes from "walk in the park" to "wait, when did I start playing Doom Eternal - Nightmare" within a single mission.
None of the characters have any character.
Online only single player.
Easy Anti Cheat for what should be an offline experience.
Denuvo behaviors (though I haven't seen hard evidence of it yet).
Stuttering on all graphic modes.
Graphic options do nothing of note regardless of values, except post processing which seems to only affect bloom.

Final thoughts:
Updated at around 10 hours of play: Pick it up on a deep sale (50%+) if you are itching for a looter shooter and don't mind any of the cons above.

Edit 1 year later:
It still feels awful to play this game. Wait for the deepest of possible deep discounts before getting into this. It's worth about 10 bucks.

If you love SOTN style Metroidvania you cannot go wrong with this.
