I always thought of myself as an outlier, something that is weird for reading wikipedia articles in his free time. I have never met anyone prior with the same trait. Something about those articles always pulled me closer to them: was it the knowledge I'm gaining, the open questions I'm getting answered or just broadening my horizon regarding my interests? I never truly knew neither have I tried too. With that being said, can you believe my excitement when I found out about this game? People with the same interest as mine, reading wikipedia in their free time coming together. Turns out I'm not alone. There are other people sharing this unique hobby with me. If I ever had to imagine a wikipedia game (which prior to this, I haven't!) It would be exactly this. Two articles, side by side, and you guess which one is longer or gets more views. While this might sound boring at first, the best part is that you are able to read the introduction of these articles and open them completely if you want to. Before you know it, you are playing maybe 20% of the time and the remaining 80% you are getting distracted reading some articles. Maybe they spike your interest so much that you decide to conduct individual research on them? That's what happened to me when I got an article on NATO Tigers in one round. I was fascinated, I never heard about something like this, and before I realize it Im trying to find out where and when their next meeting takes place (Far far away in Italy).

With such a unique game concept, it would be a bummer if this was limited to certain specifications (also considering its no high end one). Luckily this is not the case and I can say that any potato would be able to run this. Doesn't matter if you're using a gaming pc or a work pc. And despite that, the graphics are still crispy clean with beautiful use of color that isn't too dark or too light. To make this even better, it runs on Mac and Linux too so any gamer can appreciate it. I tried it on Mac and noticed no issues. No lag and the fan worked perfectly.

Lastly, my reviews wouldn't be complete if I never decide to tell the reader whether I believe the game is worth it. Well, is it? Yes it is. No questions asked. Rarely do you find an educational game that can be fun at the same time. And by educational, I mean actually educational, not the type of “education” you get playing Call of Duty learning about the different types of guns (which are all inaccurate btw). I haven't noticed any glitches or whatsoever, and the best of all is that you can change the game's language, which also pulls articles from other wikipedia pages. You would also require an active internet connection to play this, but you need that regardless if you play on steam. With that being said, if you're still interested, go ahead and get this very unique educational fun game and spend multiple hours getting distracted while playing!

City Builders. I always had a difficult relationship with them. On one hand I love them because they permit you to be creative and incorporate the “open world” genre, on the other they can be addicting and repetitive if one does not monitor their time. This is the same case for this game, although based on past experiences I have learned to greatly watch my time when it comes to these games. As the description of this game has already suggested, you can choose the world you are “stranded” in and it's your goal to take care of your tribe and escape your situation. However, I'm not going to lie, it's easy to get sidetracked playing this game and forget about the missions. Instead, I just wanted to continue building and making my tribe bigger and attack random tribes.

What I love about the few city builders that I played with is that they dont require alot of performance. They run on basically every device of the highest quality with no issue whatsoever. Obviously this also applies to the current game which runs extremely smoothly on my PC. The graphics and everything were crisp and looked very professional looking, and I was mesmerized at the consistency of thi throughout the entire game. Best of all: there are translations available, something not so common with indie games. I tried them in three languages and I was impressed. Sure, rarely you see a word in English, but regardless, I didn't spot any grammatical errors or alike.

And now, at the very end comes the most important question, that makes my reviews unique (I hope): Is it worth it? Yes. However, I hate to say that this is subjective and depends on some factors. The most important one is, are you into city building games? If yes, that's a good sign. Secondly, keep in mind that this game can get repetitive, especially when you need to be grinding to get certain material in order to progress with the story. Thirdly, be prepared to be confused. I know this sounds weird but this game merely uses a short tutorial. While there is a handbook that shows you what and how you can craft certain things, I myself was confused at times on how to do certain things prompting me to open a youtube video or just press buttons until it worked. If you can keep all these things in mind, and you are still motivated to try out the game: go on young adventurer, lead your tribe to success!

I'm going to be honest with you, before I played this game I never really understood grand strategy games. They used to be all over the steam store front pages. At Least for me. And I always wondered what exactly they were. Is a turn based game like a card game you play against a computer? Because that would get boring quickly. With this mindset I have started to ignore them whenever they came across me. Until I got the opportunity to review this game. The developer was nice enough to ask me if I was interested to try it out, so I took my chances, and I'm happy I did. Turn based games are nothing like I imagined them to be, quite the opposite, they are very fun! Essentially you have a turn, but the moment you're done you “continue” on to your next turn, there's no waiting involved. With this turn-based game, you are leading an empire in outer space doing typical leader things: feed your people, develop your technology and go to war. A classic. The amount of options this game lets you choose from is virtually endless. I myself haven't discovered them all yet, thinking I actually did. Ups. But I don't want to spoil the fun for you, it's really something you have to discover yourself.

One of the small things I love about non high end games is that you can play them anywhere. They are so accessible, with any graphics card or CPU. Doesn't matter what, they are always available. From your gaming pc to your chromebook. This game fits into that category and that's what I love about it. I don't have to worry about whether this game is playable on my setup, I can just press the download button and start it up without worrying if my pc is going to catch on fire or not. Yet, I want to stress that this game has crisp details everywhere and no issues of lagging or stuttering. Even on the steam deck, the game manages to stay very clean and attractive to the player. This is no non high end game BUT missing textures or bad rendering type of game.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, comes the highlight of my review, *drumroll*... Is the game worth it? One word answers only. Yes. Yes it is, however some things should be emphasized. First, this game features a bunch of translations. If you're planning to use one, keep in mind that while (at least for German) there are random bits here and there that will be in English. I can imagine that this will be fixed in a future update so it's not the end of the world. Secondly, while steam deck verified, and working, it's almost impossible to read on there. Yeah, don't do it. Thirdly, during the time I played the GPU usage spiked once after a new turn, causing the fan to quickly accelerate. While this didn't cause any issue, I just want to warn others that the same might happen to you but is nothing to worry about. And yea, there you have it. Will you still be planning to pick up the game? If so, good luck fellow commander!

Before I got into this game I never played a (grand) Strategy game, so I did not know what to expect. Boy, was I in for a ride. This game revolves around the American civil war where you take a side and by a turn by turn basis play. And it can get loooong. Basically its a never ending game. Something that quickly striked me is that this game isn't easy. Far from it. I'm not sure if this habit exists in all strategy games but It is complicated. I have never played a game with that many options and choices. And a lot of text to read. The reason I am bringing this up is becauseI want to emphasize that this game, if you're in a position like me and want to try out strategy, it's not a ‘sit down and relax’ type of game. It requires focus and wil (and a lot of time). However, if you're willing to overcome this barrier, it is very fun. I myself, after confusingly trying to overcome the learning barrier, I was soon sucked into the game. There's just so much to do that could cause this or that. You could literally start a new game and it would take hundreds of hours until you have discovered everything. You could try to reenact what really happened, what you wish would have happened, or what could have happened if it was for the change of some factors. Having gone into this game not knowing anything on the civil war, I found this to be a great game to learn more of the civil war if you're not familiar with it and wish to broaden your horizon on it.

The graphics are beautiful in that everything was crisp. Having used a program to monitor CPU/GPU/RAM usage, I found that this can even be played on the weakest computers. No need for a special GPU or something. And this was in every setting of the game which is a big plus. However, if possible I would recommend that you limit your FPS as it can easily go crazy and cause the PC to work harder than it has to.

Lastly, to sum up this review I want to look at, what you are probably already wondering right now (I mean you're reading this review for a reason right?): Is this game worth it? For me, Yes, it is worth it. This game can bring hours upon hours of fun with it. Easily hundreds of hours if you wish to explore every aspect this game has to offer. However, keep in mind that this can also be a negative. It can easily become addictive and make you lose track of time if you don't pay attention to your playing time. Play in moderations and this shouldn't be an issue. Lastly, it runs on every computer making it very lucrative for those that do not have a high end setup. All in all I would therefore say, good luck future soldier and may you win the battle! :)

Ever see a game which on one hand doesn't interest you due to how text based it is, while on the other hand pulling you closer to it for some odd reason? Thats how I felt when I first discovered this game. I decided to just out of giggles search up ‘law’ on steam and see what games they have to offer. This was one of them. While the style looked impressive, I was reluctant when I noticed that this will be a very text based game. Oh well, whats the worst that could happen? So obviously I was excited when I found out its finally out and could dwell into the world of the courtroom. And boy was I right! While it was very text based and hard to get into at first, I was happy I did because the extra work of reading made this game even better than I expected it to be. As a law student, I was impressed on the (somewhat) realism of this game while also keeping it fun and serious at the same time. What impressed me the most was the amount of choices and freedom given to the player to gather evidence, question witnesses and enter the courtroom.

The game runs perfectly on any machine based on its specs and my own testing. In addition, while very text based, the game has done a remarkable job in blending in the text to its surroundings to not cause any strain or issue reading for the player. Although, theres no possibility to change text size or color for those wishing to do so, meaning it can end up difficult for those with worse eye sight. (Also, by this I'm unsure about its playability on the steam deck, but this game at point of writing, is in early access, so this might all change).

Last, but not least comes the question we all have been waiting for….. (drum roll).... : is it worth it? Should you get this game or not? Theres no definite yes or no, it all comes down to personal preference. As mentioned, this is a very heavy text based game requiring a lot of reading and patience. Not just in the pre-courtroom period but also while in the courtroom: you have to be extra patient and think about how best to respond to the defendants remarks in order to impress the judges. (oh and theres also a way to manipulate them to a extent) Nothing fast based for quick fingers in this game ;) Regarding realism, as mentioned, this game is semi realistic in its pre and courtroom procedure but unrealistic in it obviously giving the player time to chose a answer and make others wait without consequences. Also, be ready to experience any glitches or bugs due to this game being in early access. That's about it! If you still feel like you're up for the challenge of this game, I would say, go on little lawyer, win that first and many more cases to come!

This game, like the previous game I reviewed from this developer, are based on the point and click genre which I never really felt attached to. Not that I have ever tried it but its once of those things, where at first glance you say ‘No thanks’. However, i was wrong! I was wrong all along in disregarding the point and click genre because its better than I imagined. What I expected to be boring and dull, has shown me to be fun and puzzling. With that being said, this is once again a amazing point and click game with a short story that runs it, all beautifully animated. Even the backgrounds are drawn to perfection with even the slightest detail. To say I was blown away is an understatement. Be on the search for a hidden treasure while the world is in chaos, but make sure to survive and not mess up to see your mission succeed.

As mentioned, this game is beautifully animated with bright uses of color on every surface. Even small details are added here and there, which don't affect the game, just make it look neater. Really emphasizes the amount of work the developers have put into this. Something you, the reader, might be wondering is how this game runs on lower end computers. The good thing is it runs perfectly. My fans were barely spinning with my GPU sitting at 40 degrees (idle temperature), and my CPU didn't even need to hit the 30. Alongside this, there is also a small graphic setting interface, to lower the graphics if one still worries about being able to play this game. The developers really have thought of everything and everyone. That's one of the plus points of point and click games, that they are usually made to run even on the worst of machines.

Lastly, a tradition I follow in all my reviews is whether the game is worth it. This game has a playtime of around 2 and a half too 3 hours. It depends on how quick someone is into solving the puzzles, or if they take their time to admire the rest of the world. Alongside this, there are a ton of other rooms to discover, all animated and nothing procedural generated or alike (no roguelike elements here), the story is a peaceful and calm but also exciting one which can be completed in a single day such as a cozy friday evening. Think about it. Lastly, don't we love supporting small developers, not only pushing AAA games but also those of a few individuals? With all that being said, let me answer the question saying yes. I do believe this game is worth it just for all the work that has been put into it, and knowing well the developers won't disappoint with their next one. So go ahead, young Indiana jones. Find the treasure!

Before dwelling into this review, I quickly want to tap myself on the back for reviewing my first VR title. I also want to note that I played this in the HTC VIVE (the original black one, not later models). When I got the opportunity to review this game I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into, all I knew is that I couldn't wait to try it out, as from personal experience, games on VR are (usually) always good and worth it. This game is a blend of action and strategy that will certainly get you sweating, either with your movement or with its timed levels. I never played or hyped over portal but for some reason this game gives me portal vibes. You pass through various timed levels in which you turn 6 sided tubes to connect colors and charge batteries. What sounds easy and boring, is far from it! Totally unique game concept I haven't seen anywhere else, which obviously is way more exciting than its supposed to be due to being in VR.

This game uses a blend of bright and soothing colors with do well on the eye for a long gaming session (as this is VR, eyes can and do still get tired). I was amazed with every aspect of this game starting from the tutorial which guided you step by step on how and what to do. This is followed by being immersed into the first level and being put to the test, so to speak. In this way the game also continues. In that sense, the game is repetitive to an extent with the exceptions of levels getting more difficult and creative but the overall idea of what to do stays the same. The VR movement is very smooth as well, as I haven't noticed any glitches, bugs, hands inside objects or other polygon errors one encounters in a lot of VR games. It really felt as if you were really there, inside of the white room turning tubes trying to charge batteries. Big props to that, lots of VR struggle with that, as one bug or imperfection can already bring you back to the real world.

Lastly, the question of if I recommend this game or not, is clearly with a big yes. This game ranks on top of the best VR games I played, I was amazed by the game idea and how it turned out in practice. I have played a lot of games, VR and non VR where game ideas are similar if not the exact same. This doesnt ruin a game but it keeps the enjoyment it can give to a extent. However, with this game the concept I have never seen before. This already put a lasting impression on me. On top of that, this game runs perfectly smooth and is easy to get into. And lastly, you guessed it, its in VR! So go ahead and get this game, doesn't matter if you're new or already a long time user of VR.

Have you ever seen a game that at first glance interests you, however upon a closer look it's part of a completely different genre than which you are used to, making you hesitant to try it out? This is that game for me. I was never really into Point and Click games. Still, the artstyle of this game somehow drew me closer making me wonder if I've been too harsh to Point and Click games. It most likely also has to do with the fact that the moment I saw the game's artstyle it made me think of Detective Pikachu on the Nintendo 3DS, and transformed me back to last summer. Having been one of my favorite game (and movie!), I just had to relive the moment by playing this game!

As already mentioned (sorry! One last time), this game has an amazing artstyle! The perfect brightness of the colors that perfectly blend in with the occasional darker segments of the game are something you rarely see in games. If I had to compare it to something I would say the use of color is similar to that in a happy kids game. The graphics are also beautifully sharp. Of Course if you zoom in too close they get sort of pixelated, but with that amount of zoom you can't play the game properly anyway. What also really got me is that the game features fully spoken dialogue. Every action, every NPC, every choice (yes, you have choices in the dialogue you speak), is brought to life by the developers decision to implement dialogue for everything there's to offer in this game! It really makes the player feel as if they aren't just playing ‘someones’ game, but are in the game ‘themselve’. It's one of those things where you have to experience it yourself to fully understand and appreciate it. Oh, and don't worry about the storyline! I have rarely played games which get the suspense up to a plot done correctly. Instead of somehow emerging in the middle of the plot, just for there to be a bigger plot, this game does it the traditional way by immersing you in a preplot which slowly builds up suspense (the good thriller book way). The story is an amazing crafted story which keeps players thrilled to the very end.

Lastly, after having focused on the games art and story, now comes the most important part of all my reviews: Is the game worth the price? Well, let's discuss, shall we? While the price may seem steep to some, it's cheap when one compares it to the amount of playtime and story they are getting. Maybe I'm just bad at puzzles, but I could never never have completed this game in the minimum completion hours of 4 (according to Howlongtobeat). It took me almost 7! Further, as the game bases itself on semi accurate history in real locations, this is a perfect opportunity to learn while gaming! A lot of the things In this game, I would have never even thought of searching up, and yet here I am knowing about Lithuanian history (well sort of). You rarely find such games nowadays. All in all, I would say that based on all the aforementioned reasons, that this game is worth its price for the enjoyment and knowledge it brings. Good luck, upcoming adventurer!

There is a lot to say regarding this game. First off, this might be the most colorful, crazy and chaotic (in a good way) I have ever played. Play the role of an AI whose mission it is to find messages throughout the world in order for you, the player, to understand the problems the AI faces. In this way, the in game protagonist is vulnerable by opening up to the player regarding the private issues it struggles with. I'm sure you don't call this breaking the 4th wall, but there surely is a word for that. Nevertheless, it's a really unique concept you rarely see in games which is a real shame. Alongside this, the game is very vibrant in its presentation: the colors literally flash in your face and are bright to the point your eyes first have to get used to them. Have you ever stayed inside without any artificial light and all the blinds closed, opened the blinds, looked at the fresh snow everywhere and you get that funny tickle feeling in your eye forcing you to look away for a second? The feeling is similar to that! (Although it might just be me as I'm half blind in one eye, any two eyed volunteers?)

As already mentioned, this game uses very bright and flashy colors. Rest assured, you can change this in the settings. However, even then I advise caution to people with epilepsy! These settings permit for changing the color saturation and brightness including other cool effects such as vignette. Play with the brightness and saturation all the way up with every effect selected, this is how I imagine hippies see the world when they take their magic mushrooms. However, the font of the settings can surely be hard to read, especially with all the bright colors arounds (Once again, take this with a grain of salt as it might just be my vision issue causing this).

Now, having said the most important aspects of this game, let me include the iconic question I discuss in every review of mine: Is it worth it? Once again, it depends. This game isn't perfect. There are some imperfections here and there. First, this game, according to NZXT CAM, runs at 100% GPU usage. Yes ladies and gentlemen, you read that right, but no need to worry. This doesn't mean 100 degrees. It's merely using the maximum load of your GPU. Temperature stayed at 40 Celcius. You rarely see that in games. Secondly, how do you move? Its simple but I myself needed 10 minutes to figure this out. You have to assign those buttons manually in the settings by pressing ESC. Thirdly, depending on if you got an issue with flashing colors and the severity, this game could cause some real damage to you and you should refrain from playing it. Fourth, there is no fourth. That's it. If all three points are kept in mind, I would say: go on, get this crazy game! This is such a unique game like you have never seen before. It's one of those games that you have to play yourself first to believe it.

You ever play a game from the same franchise, and think to yourself ‘wow, this is amazing. It can't get better’ and then it does? Because same. Chubby pixel has finally released Woodle Tree 2. Immerse yourself into a new world with all new levels to explore. More features and less glitches than the previous one. This is one of those games that feels more deserving and fun to play if you tried its former because it lets you actively be part of the games development by seeing how things change and improve. This is an all new colorful world with new enemies and a new storyline to explore where you have to restore balance in your world. This map is huge and functions as a free roam map in that you can explore wherever and whenever you want. Simply complete the story or go out exploring, trying to find all the hidden ‘bells’ in order to fully upgrade your character. A small sneak peak, the store increased massively compared to Woodle Deluxe.

The graphics are beautiful. The entire world looks crisp and clear with no low poly assets. The rendering on this game is also amazingly done. Looking into the distance, you can see the far away lands which fade away in a short fog. Perfect technique to hide the world without having loaded in fully. More indie games should adhere to this technique which I commonly only see in AAA games. I was really impressed by that. But you know what impressed me even more? That the graphics also run perfectly on Mac. Sure, the Mac gets hotter quickly but still, props to that. However, don't think this game is for the faint of heart, it's more challenging than you think it is. I fell into the same trap. You will fall, you will die, you will forget to activate a checkpoint. It sucks, but that's the fun of it.
Now, to summarize my review, is this game worth it? yes. For its price (pre sale) it's 100% worth it. There's so much to explore and do, part of the story or side story. I myself am just 2 hours in and i'm far from being done. And I didnt even do any side missions. Trust me, you will struggle and die here and there which will extend the time to beat this game by an hour easily. if you really are up for a challenge, you can even try to 100% this game. Easily adds another hour or more in case you missed something in your initial playthrough, forcing you to travel to far lands for a single objective. All in all, if you are in love with the woodle tree series, this game is a must play. By now its the best of the series!
