Back in 2022 I played a game called Lost Ark, it was my first top down MMORPG, compared to POE2, LA had a plethora of content and more interactive multiplayer experiences. What POE2 gets right over LA and many others in it's genre is it's very understated microtransactions that have little to 0 affect on gameplay. While the lessened multiplayer interactivity can seem like a negative at first, the FOMO you'd normally get comparing yourself to your fellow players is significantly reduced and makes it easier to just enjoy the game.

The game is still in Early Access, I have come across a few bugs and some of the skills/classes seem severely underpowered, but these seem to be being focused on by the devs already.

I never played POE1, from what i've heard 2 is much slower paced, but if you like a Diablo with more souls like comabt along with systems that are NOT overwhelming like LA then I'd seriously reccomend POE2. (Note: you WILL be rolling. ALOT.)
