This is one of my favorite rhythm games of all time. It's intense, psychedelic, and visceral. If you can play it in VR, that is the definitive way to play it. It is absolutely engrossing and feels like you are on a nightmare ride fighting for your life.

After just having completed Sands of Time, this was legitimately painful to play and it's pitiful in comparison to Sands of Time in nearly every regard. While SoT has a bit of clunkiness, it's ultimately still charming and has aged like fine wine. WW has aged like meat and cheese left in the sun for 20 years, absolutely rotten to the core. I was aware there would be a major tonal change, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it was absolutely jarring. The high fantasy swashbuckling aesthetic has been traded in for early-to-mid-2000's Hot Topic edginess. That may work for you, but it left an awful taste in my mouth. The combat, while "improved" in terms of abilities and combos, is forced as you can no longer sheathe your weapons. The camera is also more of a chore to orient than it was in SoT, leading to frustrating moments both in combat and during the platforming. The characters lack any real motivation and there is one character in particular who exists to literally just be tantalizing tits and ass for pre-pubescent adolescents.

Unless you have nostalgia for this game, avoid it like toxic waste and play SoT instead.

Took an hour to build shaders, is poorly optimized anyways, and crashes left and right. TLoU is, unfortunately, joining the list of awful ports. Refunding until the kinks get worked out.

Poor controls and unintuitive map designs keep this game from being any fun. If you want first person platforming, Doom Eternal and Ghostrunner do it better.

Lacks the magic the first two games in the series had. Skip it.

Good for some laughs for the first few hours but quickly went from fun to frustrating. For a $20 price tag the game doesn't really have much to offer, but could prove to be worthwhile after some updates.

Things it does right:
-Variety of game play types.
-Emulates Takeshi's Castle really well.
-Colorful and fun to watch.

Things it does wrong:
-Right now the naming is broken. Everyone is "FallGuy1234". It's really lame to look at, it would be a lot more fun to see everyone's steam name.
-Team games are awful. If you've played, you know.
-Exploits and speed hacks. They aren't plentiful, but you'll probably run into some and they ruin the fun.
-Some maps are too easy and are just plain boring.

Things you should know:
-If you're really competitive and hate losing the majority of games you play, this game is probably going to get under your skin.

TLDR: It's OK but not great. Some of the games/maps are boring, the game doesn't feel fully fleshed out yet and there isn't a ton of content. Not currently worth the $20 price tag.

Fast, frantic, fun. Incredibly balanced gun play and memorable fights.

I honestly don't see why this game or the franchise in general is held in such high regard. Maybe playing on a console would be a better experience for this (and the rest of the series), but there are so many technical things to complain about I don't know where to begin.

Good:
-Atmosphere, graphics (sorta), sound.

Neutral:
-No actual story to speak of. Yeah, yeah, I know there is a lot of lore. But you're picking up puzzle pieces and eventually saying "well what do you know, turns out this thing is fleshed out after all." If that's your style, cool. I found myself annoyed by this approach though.

Bad:
-Well known issues with framerate drops for an insanely inordinate amount of issues. Even if you have a super computer, you will likely find yourself running through a 20 page check-list to ensure you don't encounter stuttering due to some strange issue that only plagues this game.
-Controller mapping is terrible. And that is another well known glitch that has never been addressed.

Bottom-Line: I had more fun just reading through the wiki than playing a single title in this series. I will probably give the series a chance on console just to see if the technical issues are non-existent. But ♥♥♥♥, as much as it pains me to say, for your own sanity and the sake of your monies, stay away from the entire series on PC.

This game is an utterly ♥♥♥♥ port. Mods are mandatory to make this not look like you poured bleach onto your eyes. Controller support is a joke - can't change bindings within the game on a controller, so once again mods are your only option. I don't want to feel like I'm utilizing emulators after purchasing a product on steam. ♥♥♥♥ this stupid port.

Probably great when it came out, but at this point it's a beautiful relic but feels dated in many regards. The story telling and world building are top-notch, but I could not get past the awful AI, poor combat mechanics, and at this point not having fast-travel feels like a punishable crime. Just watch a YouTube video of the story and move on if you didn't play this when it first came out. Nostalgia would be it's only saving grace.
