I just 100% this and had a pretty good time. I very much enjoyed the personalities of the dual protagonists. I do also wish I had someone to play it with co-op to make this even better, but it was fun solo.

My only real issues with this game are the slow loading times. I don't know what takes it so long to load anything since the game isn't that new and the graphics don't look that complex to warrant the waits.

Would recommend though.

Was a good time! I see the inspiration from games that came before it, both old and new. If you like how it looks then you'll probably enjoy the gameplay.

The only gripe I had with it is the delay on (aerial) attacks when trying to change directions when you're attacking or shortly after the animation finishes. The rest of this game felt responsive.

I recommend it if you are just wanting to play an indie Metroidvania and you're digging the style from the videos and trailer. However, the ending is quite unsatisfying and clearly they are leaving it open ended enough for a sequel or maybe a DLC? It's fine. It's not too expensive, but it's short at 9-10 hours for a 100% completion.

I've heard some folks complain about it being wordy. It's really not that much text. Everything isn't Call of Duty multiplayer or Fortnite. Sometimes games have a story that you follow along with.

If I had to pick recommend or not recommend after finishing the story, I'm going to lean not recommend.

tl;dr -> Ultimately, I feel like the game and gameplay itself is fine for casual co-op play, but in creating an atmosphere to prod the player into wanting to pay for things, it causes the game to suffer. Design decisions were clearly made to make you want to avoid all of the RNG and grind for players that will be invested in those who are interested in the endgame. This formula does work for Nexon, typically... just not Maple Story 2.

I enjoyed playing the story, and also enjoyed the game giving you different guns that you can play with (even though they weren't particularly different and only the crafted ones have interesting unique passives/skills), but I feel like I'm pretty much done.

I don't care for the excessive RNG grind to unlock materials. I don't really vibe with any of the descendants that much (I'd like a tanky lady descendant or lady support) and I'm not going to either pay $50+ for ult bunny or RNG grind for her. I don't like the one-use paint system. I don't like them charging random amounts for things in the store so you have to over-pay for items and I don't like waiting for crafting. How did they take the bad part of Warframe (crafting timers), then also take the annoying part of destiny (consumable paint) and ship that? I wouldn't mind as much about the starter descendants, but 2 out of 3 of them are the most basic looking characters they could have chosen. At least they give you bunny, but let's be honest - that's probably 30% of the population.

Also, why is there no system to trial the descendants? Why would I work towards unlocking a descendant that looks cool only to try it and discover that I don't actually like it much? Why is Nexon not learning from Hoyoverse on this?

It's also a weird decision to lean completely into the sexy bunny look and then just not have that look for anyone else or any sort of outfits like that for anyone else. Are they plan on staggering that stuff out to get people back into the game as the numbers dwindle? Most of the outfits I've seen are kind of lame, which acts counter to wanting money.

It's a fun game and you can definitely play through the story without paying, but you'll definitely have a lesser experience than someone who will just pay to have items to expand your mod capacity or to buy characters. I bought the battle pass to support the game early on, but there's also not even a single outfit in there.

If you subscribe to the notion that a PvE game can be pay to win, this certainly has elements of that since you can skip large swaths of time wasting if you pay enough. If you don't, then you can ignore that sentence completely.

Not a bad game at all. It's heavy on the Mega Man Battle Network inspiration which isn't a bad thing. We seem to be in an era where Capcom forgets that Mega Man was once kind of a mascot for the brand so it's nice to see people who grew up with the games now making games that take heavy inspiration from what came before it.

I got this fairly cheap in a bundle and had a pretty good time. Enjoyable story, not too long, good gameplay. As some indies do, there are SO many references. I think I counted like 15+ other references to other games. Some of the bosses are a little bit spongy and I'd have rather substituted that for a slight bit more difficulty, but it was fun overall. It had some story moments that made me feel things, but also not much in the plot that was really a huge surprise.

It's nice to see something good out of Kickstarter.

I'd give it a solid B.

Not much to say here, but if you liked the other games in this series then you'll probably like this one.

I never played the original, but from what I can tell, they did a great job with this. I had a lot of fun even though I was skeptical at first because I didn't like a number of the newer Star Ocean games.

I admit that I was slightly skeptical if I'd like the game or not, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. It's a decent lil turn-based RPG. Kinda cute, kinda emotional. I enjoyed myself.

Early Access Review
I've been watching this game since I first saw it announced and I'm happy to say I've been enjoying myself a lot. It's definitely a mix of ARK and Pokemon and a teensy bit of Breath of the Wild. The difference is I actually like this game and don't like those other games much. I don't even particularly care about survival games, but the Pals in this make it tolerable to deal with crafting and gathering.

That being said, this is early access and there are issues
- Server stability
- Pal pathing/logic is goofball quite a lot.
- A certain item causing world corruption potentially

Only the second one of those has affected me and I also make backup saves all the time.

It's a fun time and I'm glad it's doing well for itself. I'm having a lot of fun with it exploring, creating/unlocking new things, and catching Pals.
