I ridiculously simple yet elegant... simulator I guess. Time waster? Perhaps. It's very moody and relaxing, unless you found you forgot to water your plants.

I would recommend this game, as it is very investing and a great start to the game- however, it is only of the start that I have played. It does not run well on my Macbook Pro that I am using on my vacation instead of my beefy desktop- and it was the intent to play it probably solely on this laptop. As such, the game's graphics do not run well at all on my system (though it says I lack an intel graphics card, this laptop does indeed come with one), suffering under 10-20 fps when lots of shadows come into play- notably in the second area of the game and very easily seen in the stresstest. I will probably come back to this later, but as of now, this game cannot run properly.

While it may not be laugh out loud hilarious (as Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island are)- it isn't supposed to be, although it has it's fair share of humor. It has a great story (so far) and excellent dialogue and VA (so far). I was glued to my screen and took just over 3 hours to beat the whole thing. The end is just perfect. The puzzles may be a bit too simple, however that's nothing terible- I still enjoyed solving them, however I can't wait to see what's up in store for the second half. I reccomend this fully.

PS Turn your screen resolution to the lowest and look at your controlls options. Enjoy!

While you may think this is the next best horror game from the boys (and girls?) over at Frictional Games, you'd be wrong. First of all, they sent this game's almighty creation kit over to the fine artsy peoples at the chineeseroom. ((in)famous for their previous game, Dear Esther) Second of all, it's not scary. Sure, there may be a slight tad of tension near the beginning and all, but midway through the game falls straight on it's face and becomes Walking Silmulator 2013. And in that regard, this game is the best Walking Silmulator of the year.

With that said, the game still has an overarching atmosphere and top-notch writing. Which is great, because much like the atmosphere which is good and in-your-face, the writing is good and always-in-your-face-why-hello-there. You'll constantly be hearing Mandus write frequently in his wee diary about everything. From "I pulled a lever!" to "I believe there is a monster near (there never is) #scared #omg," the sound of the game notifying you about his endeavors will strike the most fear into your heart.

The monsters, unlike the first game, are non-existant. Whle this may seem happy to those who bought new pants during the first game, there is no tension because the game is WS2013. Straight line. So straight infact, I almost lost myself when I made a corner, only for the game to have a beautifully shokcing hand-arrow-pointy sign. Alright, back on monsters it is. They're weak. They're pitiful. Gadly though they're quite revolting, the idea of them is scarier than they actually are ingame- however, it is Mandus who should be weak and pitiful (well, I guess they can pull a Daniel AGAIN.) and instead you are Mr. Universe, who can take a hit like you ain't got no time to hurt. It's no wonder how (minimal spoilers to a dead ended room!) you can fall almost 30 feet into a shallow pool of poo and survive. (spoilers done!) Speaking of which, there is no gameplay. This should have been obvious before when I called it WS2013, but I'm going to point it out anyways, becuase unlike the other best Walking Silmulators out there, it doesn't let you do what you normally could on a walk. There is no inventory no oil no lighters no health and no sanity. Without any of those, exploring has no depth and beauty which can never match the first game. In fact, I beat the whole thing in 4-5 hours. Others claim 3 hours! They must be hacking. The no sanity part leads me to believe Mandus is alrady insane, but clearly he's sane, otherwise we'd be playing a game in which you jump on little brown animals, eat mushrooms and go into sewers for red plastic coins.

Have I gotten everything that needs to be in a review? Hmmm. I think the review fits to a tee. And so, I'd like to talk about how I sweat throughout my playthrough. Not because of fear, but because of it being the best Walking Silmulator of the Year. WS2013 FTW, people. FTW.

FINAL THOUGHTS- I recommend this game, as best Walking Silmulator of the Year. I think the chineseroom has created a new genre, and should be experienced by all as they are the genre defining people. Thanks for reading! Stay tuned, for I'll be reviewing The Stanley Parable next!
