Honestly, the shooting and management is fun and all, but I have never felt so fat in my life. I don't even kill for an objective or for loot, I only do this so I can pig out on the noodles in this grunt's pockets to keep the beast that is my stomach in check.

Imagine Fat Princess but in an existential anarcho-capitalist nightmare. Amazing.

It's been a long while since I played a game with melee combat that is as satisfying as that seen in ELDERBORN.
Every hack, slash, parry and bludgeon feels amazing, and nothing beats the feeling of wiping an area of the map in a single life.

It has some 'Souls' elements to it. You collect essence to upgrade damage, speed or resilience, but these are lost upon death whereon you must recover them. Standard stuff.

Soundtrack compliments the game to a perfect degree. They seriously do put the 'Metal' in 'Metal AF'. A guitar riff for every interaction, kick-ass solos blaring when you get yourself in a pinch... what's not to like?

While it is shorter than what you'd expect, there's no excuse for not grabbing it for the tenner they have it on Steam for. Honestly, I don't know how the devs sleep at night thinking about all they money they could have if they sold the game at $20, which I would most definitely pay.

Hyperstrange, I love Elderborn. I haven't heard of you beforehand, but you most definitely have a fan right here after playing the game. I look forward to seeing (and playing) your future projects.
