Absolutely top-notch, perfectly executed shooter experience. Great, unique core gameplay, great stage design, and the audiovisuals to match the rest.

It's a good game, but be advised this port is messed up - the game is controlled via mouse but mouse acceleration or some another parameter is set to a ridiculous amount, making quick AND precise movements very difficult.

In a game that is completely based around quick and precise movements it's, as you can guess, a stupid design decision that makes me wonder if ANYBODY playtested the port... well, it's not the end of the world as I did manage to complete the game, but attempting to play for high score may prove far more frustrating than it's worth.

And it's not like it's impossible, BIT.TRIP BEAT somehow managed to avoid this problem.

Imagine if Disciples 3 never existed and instead Disciples II was actually remade into a next gen game. While the base D3 was somewhat iffy, Reincarnation is an awesome game all around. This was achieved by retooling and improving almost every single aspect of the original game.

Pros:
+ four vastly different factions with their own strengths and weakness
+ multiple upgrade paths for units allowing for flexibility
+ very long (we're talking 40+ hours each) campaigns
+ the gorgeous art style, graphics and awesome music

Cons:
- some rough edges like one or two mismatched voices

BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is the second Runner game in the BIT.TRIP series, where you control the Rhythm Alien.

Yeah.

So what's it all about? You control this vaguely rectagonal fella called CommanderVideo and you run, jump, kick, block, and do a whole lot of other activities in order to reach the end of a level. The levels are handcrafted so that avoiding obstacles and getting items contributes to the music (as usual for the BIT.TRIP). There are 120 levels in 3 difficulty levels and 25 hidden retro chalenges to complete spread through five different worlds.

The graphics are pretty without being overly flashy or distracting while the music is top notch. The controls are tight enough and the level design has a very fine-tuned difficulty curve. All in all, the game is long and provides a good replay value, in part thanks to the online leaderboards.

Whether or not you have played the original Runner, and whether or not you like music games in general, B.TP...R2:FLoRA is very much worth your attention!

For those who are familiar with Runner 1:
They have improved and expanded every single aspect of the game. That's all.

A wonderful amalgamation of the entire 80's culture into one snarky, explosive, violent package. It's like playing Terminator, Robocop, Aliens, all at once.

Still not convinced? Well, lemme tell you, this game-

This game, it has DRAGONS. That shoot LASERS. Out of the EYES.
A sniper rifle that shoots EXPLOSIONS.
A shotgun that SETS TARGETS ON FIRE.
Mortal Kombat against ZOMBIES.

I rest my case.

* it's a terrible, terrible port: for example many users (myself included) cannot aim at the lower third of the screen. This includes not being able to change options or select the final level.

As much as it hurts to say thay, until it's fixed, don't touch it.
