I initially made this review to protest and warn about the PSN-requirement Sony was about to enforce on the game, blocking out roughly 2/3rds of the globe from joining the fight for Democracy that had already been able to play previously. Given the stunning, almost mythical success of our glorious brothers-and-sisters-in-arms in communicating our displeasure, initiating a walk-back on that decision by the Producers, I can once again happily, if not proudly, recommend this game to those who were waiting or uncertain about if this was the experience for them. Helldivers 2 is the game I will gladly nominate for Game of the Year, and recommend to any who want the fun of a shooter or team-combat game without the toxicity and rage of PvP elements or awkwardly shallow monetization aspects.
