The game had immense potential during its alpha phase, with expansive battlegrounds and an innovative large-scale tri-faction multiplayer. However, the initial excitement quickly faded due to a rushed launch and mismanagement of resources. The developers diverted attention and funds to other projects, particularly H1Z1, resulting in layoffs. As a consequence, PlanetSide 2 suffered from a lack of sustained support and investment, hindering its growth and development.

To realize its potential, the game desperately needed continuous updates and improvements, but unfortunately, this support was lacking. Critical aspects such as balancing, content expansion, and the backend were neglected, ultimately hindering the game's evolution. Players who were initially drawn to its ambitious vision gradually lost interest and became frustrated with the lack of progress. Instead of becoming a thriving community-driven experience, PlanetSide 2 became a disappointment, falling short of its initial promise and leaving many lamenting its lost potential.

It is disheartening to witness a game with such promise falter and fail to live up to its expectations, especially considering its rich universe and dedicated fanbase. I still recommend giving it a try, if only to experience it before it eventually fades away. Despite its shortcomings, PlanetSide 2 remains a truly unique game that holds a special place in my heart.
