My friend pinged me on Discord while I was playing, so I had to leave the game fast. Used the glass, the shell was blank, so I used the inverter, sawed-off shotgun and shot myself.

Got the achivement for that. Worth it.

I highly recommend Blue Acolyte for Quality of Life changes
I highly recommend to download Blue Acolyte Mod. "It aims to mitigate the damage that malicious cheaters can do, and allows you to identify, kick, and block them".

It's simple - just drag and drop files in your local files directory of Dark Souls 2.

Same variation of this mod exists for the Dark Souls 3. It has integration of Steam blocking for malicious players, it warns you if the player uses cheats and the mod creates backup saves before each multiplayer session. Got your data corrupted because of the filthy cheater? Just copy and paste backup file and you're safe!

As for PVP - The cracked red eye and blue eye orbs are no longer consumed on use.

Also, this mod is SAFE . You won't get banned for using it . "The mod works around the in-game anti-cheat and is undetectable". I've spend good 200 hours using it for PVP and, oh boy, it was the best descision I've ever made in Dark Souls 2.
