I played through this game with the HTC Vive

It's difficult to describe, TSP creates a very deep and convincing atmosphere, like you have been cut off from the rest of the human race and are truly very very alone.

Pros

- General Atmosphere

- The various extreme alien weather events are frickin scary!

- Map design and detail

- The unfolding story as you explore and learn more is intriguing

- Voice acting is good

- Satisfying length, took me about 13-14 hours over several sessions (Playing in VR is Tiring)

Cons

- I was quite underwhelmed with the ending, considering all the work you go through to obtain completion

- A pretty hefty amount of Horsepower is required to run TSP in VR, I was able to almost max out the game (With a GTX 1080) but lower tier "VR Ready" GPU's might have some trouble

- Using the Teleportation disc shooter thingy to pass into locked areas is way too easy (in VR)

I bought this game for VR, but over estimated how good it would look in virtual reality based on the store's screenshots. Considering the current resolution of the Vive and Rift this game isnt the best experience because of the numerous bright open areas; which cause a much more obvious screen door effect than if Obduction featured more smaller / darker settings.

This isnt to say Obduction is a bad game by any means, I just dont recommend it if you are planning on buying it solely for VR.

A fantastic VR title that sets itself apart from the rest

- Very accurate bow and arrow physics ( very similar to that of "The Lab" )

- Easier to run than most VR titles

- Plenty of replayability

- A solid choice if you want to work up a sweat while playing

and since the game music can be turned off, holopoint is great with a bit of your own prefered music

I highly recommend this game! If you have an HTC Vive, Rift, or other compatible VR Headset this game is in my opinion definetly worth the price and is a must have. Hands down the scariest game I have ever played, with the fantastic atmosphere created by the combination of story, ambiant sounds and music, and overall graphical design and art style of the setting.

Pros:

- Great atmosphere

- Scaryness of the game dosn't rely on constant jumpscares

- Decent length, took me about 2 - 2.5 hrs to complete over two sessions

- Didn't experience any motion sickness throughout the entire game despite not using the blink/teleport option because the locomotion is designed to be slow enough as to not cause any nausea.

Cons:

- Your virtual body won't follow you around as you inspect the environment from different angles, this resulted in the first 2 frights of the game coming from seeing my headless avatar leaning towards me as I glanced back.

- Textures could be of a slightly higher resolution, but didnt take away from the experience or immersion at all

- The puzzles in this game are very easy to complete, and a higher difficulty setting would have been nice

Again I would highly recommend this experience to any owners of a Vive ( which I used ) or Rift, i'm not sure what the gameplay is like outside of VR but im sure the lack of a headset wouldnt take away from the game all too much
