I never used to think this day would come, but here we are: I miss the loot boxes. In Overwatch 1 you got loot boxes for levelling and completing challenges. During event you got lootboxes for that particular event. Even though you were not guaranteed anything, it was pretty common to get 3 legendary skins just by playing lightly during the event and even if you missed a skin you really wanted, you probably had enough coins from loot boxes to buy it. If not even that, skins from same event from previous year could be bought for 1000 coins instead of 3000. My point is, you could get basically all skins for free eventually. Only skins that you could buy with nothing but real money were Overwatch League skins and some very special skins like Pink Mercy, which was for charity.

Fast forward to Overwatch 2. There are no more loot boxes. Instead there is battle pass, where you can get a few skins if you buy it for 1000 coins (10 EUR). This esentially locks skins behind a paywall, but okay, battle pass is not that expensive and you don't even have to grind it too hard. I can unlock all content except for the titles by playing daily-ish and still have half the time remaining till battle pass ends. What really pisses me off they release lot of skins that you can only buy in shop for ridiculous prices. Some skins cost 25+ EUR, which is more than the entire freaking battle pass. Sure you get coins in battle pass, but you cannot use those coins for the skins in the shop. You have to give real money for that.

Don't even get me started on promises of PVE campaign, which was supposed to be the whole point of Overwatch 2, but was later scrapped and instead we will gradually get some PVE missions here and there. The first mission pack came out just now and you have to pay 15 EUR for it. Sure, you will get missions and 1000 coins, so missions will technically cost you "only" 5 EUR, but even if you already have enough coins, you cannot use them. Instead you just have to pour more real money into the game. From what I've seen in videos, the missions have nice animatics with quality that we're used to and are kind of fun, but at this point I'm very reluctant to give even more money to these greedy bastards.

Also matchmaking sucks and most games you will steamroll over someone else or get steamrolled over, nothing in between. People often disconnect and game for some reason takes very long time to give you another player, which, especially if you play role queue and your tank disconnected, kiss any chance of victory goodbye.

Don't get me wrong, the game itself is fun, but Blizzard are greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, who just focus on making expensive skins. They don't give you any chance to win those by playing (except for few usually not so good event skins here and there). They don't do anything about crappy matchmaking and sometimes they don't fix bugs for long time (like the Kiriko teleportation bug). For some reason they also like to buff heroes, who were already OP. Yes, I really don't think recent buffs for Bastion, Soldier 76, or Orisa were necessary.

I understand that online games have to make money somehow, but the level of Blizzard's greediness is absolutely ridiculous.

This game is 100% pure fun. Background music is awesome. Combat is very fast-paced (you have to run and jump around all the time) and there's no reloading (same as in original DOOM 1&2). Melee kills are not only absolutely satisfying, but also useful to regain health. There are all weapons from original DOOM games plus some more. The game has also some RPG elements like upgrading your weapons, armor and abilities. It has everything that made old DOOM games great just with modern graphics and some good new stuff sthrown in. I've just beaten the game and I'm probably going to play it again just to try different weapon upgrades and have more fun killing monsters.
