Personally, I'm glad that there's a way to support the devlopers of this game. It's quite well optimized, runs smoothly, and is pretty fun. I'd say for the rewards, they probably should of clarified that the reward you recieve depends on the gender of your character. It would of been nice to get both of them though, having them not restricted to genders. I'm sure that there's quite a few players that wanted the red gloves and winter hat that had male characters, and possibly vice versa.
