Dota is by far the most played game in my account, and as to whether I regret it depends on the day.

I'd be lying if I said this game wasn't hilariously enjoyable and making you want more of that feeling quite often, and sometimes a loss just makes you remember everything you hate about it. Sometimes you get one of those games where you hold for 90 minutes and pull it back, or have an even game for an hour, and win or loss, you walk away happy or excited, and you both welcome and fear the next time that occasional event comes to you.

Sometimes I need a break from this game, which can last months at a time, sometimes I just wanna spam one hero, sometimes I just want to find something to hate, like the queue times, or Tinker players, etc. What I've realised is this game, and others like it, in the competitive esports archetype that is, is the best possible summation of all the great and horrible things of a game all together. Sometimes the community is toxic, sometimes valve does something so unimaginably stupid in a patch we still fail to see the logic, but I'd be lying if I said the idea, at it's purest form, is one I cannot get enough of.

Many games have come and gone through my daily plays since jumping to PC, Gmod, GTA V, Mount and Blade, Rocket League, Terraria, CSGO, Overwatch, Stardew Valley, R6, Destiny 2 at this moment, but this is the only game that has maintained itself to a point I have continued to play, not for ranking up all the time, though I try for sure, but to play with friends, do something stupid strat wise or play a new hero, maybe try a less played role out is endless hours of fun.

Whether I love this game or hate it to it's core, depends on the day, but after over 4000 hours over the span of six years... I played this game when I got to high school, I'm still playing it over two years after graduating high school, no other game has stood that test of time for me, this game will likely forever be in my library, for better or worse, and I do not mind that whatsoever.

You read the subreddits to your games Valve, we give you hell very often, and you get very little praise. I doubt many of us who play would admit it, but you've changed many of our lives with this game, as well as the other games you've created. I have my criticisms of you, but the products you've given us, have been, for the most part, great little pieces of our lives, and I thank you for that.
