Fun "space-themed" building game, albeit a bit glitchy/clangy at times. Overall it's relaxing to play, and nice to see a game that actually made it out of early access...

Besides pushing back the release date/time more than once, there are many other reasons to dislike Genesis: Part 1.

Studio Wildcard, like usual, delayed the release. More than once.
Studio Wildcard, like usual, released a DLC that is full of bugs and other issues. And then fixed [some] of those bugs by introducing more bugs. Yay.
Studio Wildcard, like usual, released a DLC that feels largely unfinished (content-wise), and not in a "add-more-down-the-road" way, either. Just flat out not that exciting of a DLC.
Studio Wildcard, like usual, seems to fail to recognize any flaw with their software/game development process. They much rather focus on releasing "shiny" new content, than fixing their existing mess of a game (face it, it's about the money).

Besides that, Genesis is just as un-optimized as the base game (no surprise there), and feels extremely underfeatured considering how long they delayed it. Honestly, I was expecting something at least half decent given the amount of additional time they required. Go figure, I should have known better than that.

Studio Wildcard has taken my money for the last time, unless they somehow manage to fix these types of issues for future games. But hey, at least they haven't implemented in-game purchases [yet] -- unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised to see that if they ever released an Ark "2.0", since they seem so money-hungry.

Needless to say I was already level 17 by time I was able to build a bed w/out dying of thirst, being chewn up by terror birds, or burnt to a crisp (among other various horrible deaths). All in all, fun dlc. Don't know if I would've paid $20 for it though (I bought it on sale for $7.50--definitely worth that much at least). Obviously there are some of the classic Ark bugs and nuances that could (and should) be dealt with, but I guess the devs don't care that much about optimization, and only care about game-breaking or easy to fix bugs and glitches. You learn to live w/ em, though...or you die and lose your favorite mount due to a glitch and throw your keyboard through the drywall.

Great game, relevant and exciting updates make it fun to come back to every couple months for another 'play-through'

I bought this game back in September, and played it for around a week or so. Eventually I became bored, having done basically everything you could on a pve server. While I'm not that much into pvp, at that point in time that was the one thing keeping this game from becoming boring too fast. Anyway, I logged on today and found a surprising amount of updates had been done, not only did the ui look much nicer, some bugs had been fixed (such as crashing when logging out) , and more content had been added. All I can say is if this game continues in this direction, it will be an extremely fun game to play once it is finished.

Great game, but drops connection mid-way through match. Then I can no longer quit the match, respawn, or shoot and damage enemy players for the rest of that match. This happens 90% of matches. I watched my internet activity during this, and it starts out fine, then suddenly the game starts acting up and then my wifi activity drops to basically none. I have excellent ping and decent download and upload speeds, with this game coming nowhere near close enough in usage for that to be a problem. Wish it worked :( seems fun when it actually does...
