Embarked to a nice looking river, turns out it's a tall hill, almost a mountain with a water gap
A wolfwoman runs my tavern, one filled with a goblin beast slayer (dual shields) intelligent undead elves and humans. Occasionally resulting in a brawl and race riots. The militia is so skilled at this point werebeasts barely pose a risk
All in a tavern dug into the cliffside overlooking a waterfall and the river 14 z-levels below. This gorgeous sight brings joy and wonder to all who drink
Corpses are dumped off the bridge spanning the ravine, carried away by the river
The fortress is content.

The cost is no issue to me. With thousands of hours on the free version
If you're doubting if it's for you, the free version is still getting updated. You're paying for a lil mouse support (slightly better UI) and a tilewset

In reality there are no choices, the game is about micro managing your entire economy with no outside influence. Every economy is a command economy and your capitalists won't do anything for you
Neither will your pops, they're patheticly simple and have 2 states. Loyal or revolutionary. Yes apperently communists, anarcho liberals and fascists get along perfectly in opposition. There are no subfactions of radicalized pops and frankly pops don't really matter as they won't be drawn to political parties instead it's the opposite they are influenced by the parties
I'd recommend waiting a couple of years, maybe after 300$ worth of DLC it'll become on par with Victoria 2 but i wouldn't count on it. It's flaws are core to it's design

Used to be a 10/10
Was already a buggy mess on modern systems, literally unplayable thanks to 2K adding their non-functional addware

Once one of the best games ever
Now, borderline unplayable because of a launcher that's worse then Uplay was in it's early years

Would strongly recommend it, but play with friends it's very grindy otherwise. PvE wise an enjoyable experience for enough hours

Ah yes, the feeling of assaulting a mansion with a pistol, 2 frags a flashbang and a shotgun you just took off the gate guard
Doing that and getting trough unscathed is euphoric
Just a reminder that some junkies and gangbangers aren't masterminds when it comes to tactics. The AI does get better in later stages by quite a bit

Story isn't what i was looking for, nor the focus. The combat is fast and deadly, the stealth is good. Feels good and a breath of fresh air from an industry that tacks on stealth or "rpg" mechanics with insultingly little depth. Game is actually a superb stealth game
Also True difficulty or bust

Worth every penny even off sale

7 years of waiting for this and I need to say it was worth it, genuinely a very enjoyable shoot em up with a decent level of difficulty
