Absolutely amazing expansion. It's like playing Factorio for the first time again. So many new and nicely designed challenges and puzzles. Absolutely worth it. I can't imagine playing Factorio without this expansion now.

This is what I would expect "2" of a game to be like. Everything is better and improved. Puzzles are more interesting and balanced, story is better, graphics are better (actually absolutely amazing), optional quests are better, UI is better, dialogues are better.

Initially a bit frustrating - I could not win a single run with any character on even the easiest difficulty. Then I watched like 2 minutes of tips on youtube and from there I started making good progress and winning runs even on higher difficulties. I think what would help is some "tips" to show in the game when you lose a run as beginner.

After this initial tough part the game is so much fun. It is very well balanced, there's so many fun and interesting characters to choose from. The pacing is really good too - the game takes very little time to play, yet does not feel rushed. If you want to play it for just a few minutes - you can. If you want to spend hours playing it every day - you can! it is packed with action, yet it is a great way to take a small break and relax. What a gem!

I really like the story, storytelling, atmosphere, architecture, characters, puzzles. It's all really captivating and I crave to know more and progress forward.

But then there are things that ruin it all for me:
1. There's only one difficulty and it's quite high. I keep dying over, and over, and over again in many battles. It is incredibly distracting, I mainly want to experience the story, learn the game mechanics and then play the game again on an actually challenging difficulty.
2. Side-missions: at one point I had 8 or 9 side missions available, with enemies at very different levels, and I had no way to tell which side-missions my character is ready for and which I should leave for later
3. Guns: the reloading is frustratingly slow; I understand the idea is for it to be a challenging element, but it is simply too challenging. I am very late in the game now, I have upgraded my weapons and mods almost to max, but the weapons still feels very weak. Also, while you can have multiple weapons, you can only put two into your loadout, so if you want to switch between more than two weapons you have to go into the loadout menu over and over again.

Due to the above going through this game feels like a chore, which is sad, I really like the story and the atmosphere.

I was worried I would be a bit bored playing this game because I did play Half-Life back in the day quite a few times. That was not the case at all - I had great fun! This is such a lovely game, beautifully thought out and entertaining. The Xen part is an absolutely mesmerising work of art.

Well, this is, without a doubt, the best game I have ever played. It's like it was created specifically for me and what my brain enjoys. It tickles my mind in the very right way. I am an engineer and I like to build, inspect, improve, optimise, and automate things - that kind of stuff. If you are the same type of person, you MUST try this game. Yes, it will swallow your time like nothing else before, but you will enjoy all of it.

The 700+ hours of game play I accumulated over more than 4 years, playing it for a couple of months, then having a break for a few months, then picking it up again. Most of my time I have spend expanding my main big base, and I am still not finished. And this is all without any mods, just plain vanilla version of this game.

So glad I bought this even though I usually play different types of games (action FPS and such). Wow, what an artful masterpiece. Atmosphere, sound, music, graphics are one of a kind super unique experience. Can't find the right words to describe it. Absolutely recommending this. It was relatively short, but it was exactly what I needed.

Pure evil action perfection. If you are a former Doom/Quake player, it is imperative that you play this game. This game was made for you. It has everything you want, and things you didn't even know you want. You will not believe you can have so much fun. You will wish this game never ends. Buy it. Do it!

A gem among games and the best mix of RPG and FPS genres. If you like games that completely swallow you up in their unique atmosphere, this one is for you. It's an old game but even in 2015 it's definitely worth it. Awesome storyline too. You will want to replay it many times in many different ways.
