I backed this game, and I was let down

I wanted to give this game time to get to the state it was originally suggested it was going to be, but that's never going to happen. I backed Mirror 2 because it was described as a bigger and better Mirror 1 with a longer story, upgraded graphics, more voice acting, truly great H scenes, etc etc. It was meant to be Mirror 1 on a bigger budget with all the bells and whistles they could afford. Then they took the game in a different direction and completely ruined any and all goodwill and support they had with the community.

This game by any other name might have been a success. The match 3 game-play isn't bad with some novel ideas, and the graphics are decent enough, and the animations are fine. But they promised an H game, and then stabbed their core audience in the back.

I'm saddened to hear that the dev company went bankrupt. I would have much rather they stuck it out, changed the name of this game, and eventually just made the Mirror 2 that was promised. Or even take the L on this, and develop a new game with the promised content. Either way they weren't going to appease all of the people they disappointed, but they may have recovered some of their lost reputation over time.

As it stands, this is an unfinished game with barely an hour's worth of content, and little to no replayability value. DLC for an early access title that doesn't incorporate anything meaningful to the game, a lot of which are just colour variations of the same items. So no, I can't recommend this game as it is, and it will never be completed to a standard that will change that ,

All that's left is a sub-par game, a company ruined, a potential wasted and a dream unfulfilled.

R.I.P Mirror 2 and everything you could have been.

Should have an auto-refund option for people that have less than double digits in play time, like myself......

As much as I wanted to like it, lets be honest it's janky as hell compared to some other FPS games. The characters are stiff and slow to react and the animations for the character feel unnatural and again slow to react. The graphics are pretty poor by today's standards, hell, they were poor for Dec 2017 and they've done nothing to fix that. In fact, apart from a couple of questionable map designs have they ever actually added anything meaningful to the game? Lets be honest, if it didn't have some pseudo z-list e-sports celeb attached to it, it would never have garnered the interest it did. And now the Developers are desperately trying to squeeze the last few drops of life out of it by making it Free-to-play in the hopes it'll boost it's failing player base.

Normally if a game is free to play I'd say; Have at it! Give it a shot! What have you got to lose? But in this instance, save you time and hard drive space. With the amount of coverage it's had with Steam highlights/YouTube vids/Twitch clips etc. you've seen absolutely EVERYTHING this game has to offer, which isn't very much to be honest. There are plenty other fps games out there that are better and do the whole battle royal thing better as well. Without Player Unknown's name attached to it, this would have been throw in a dumpster fire day 1.

Er, yeah. About as frustrating as Flappy Bird to be honest. It takes seconds to download if you're looking for something to start the summer sales quest off. The music is relaxing but the gameplay is frustrating as hell.

Early review / First thoughts

Well, in the (less than an) hour I've been playing I've gotten through the first few stages of the game and I have to say, so far it's been a blast! The over-the-top action you see in the videos is exactly what you get, unlike some other games that look amazing in the previews but then don't live up to the hype. Literally 2 buttons and so much fun. If any game was actually worth it's price-tag then this would be it. And I was lucky and picked it up for 99p in the Autumn sale. Best quid I've ever spent! So get it now if you haven't!

The only down side, and I may just be being picky, is that you find yourself concentrating on the arrows below the enemies (the ones which tell you when to attack) rather than the enemies themselves. This means you miss out on all the insane stickman violence because you're trying to concentrate and not mess up. But I think once you've gotten used to the colours of the enemies and what the ranges are then you'll intuiatively know where and when to push the buttons and be treated to a glorious stickman slashfest!
