Wishes Unlimited doesn't miss! It's dorky and it's sweet and it's colorful and fun and nostalgic and fresh and new, and it's only getting better as they keep working on it. I can't wait to see where this ends up, but it's already ridiculous how attached I am to this.

I think the atmosphere of this game is really cute and the concept is interesting; I'm not surprised to see that it's doing well and I'm really happy that it is!

But what I am surprised about is that as far as I can tell click mashing is an integral part of the design of the fishing minigame. Luckily, there's a built-in autoclicker for folks who can't mash that can be enabled in the settings menu! Way to go, West!

Other than that, I really do like everything I've seen about this game! It's absolutely adorable and oozing with solo dev charm, and for only $5? It's basically a steal.

I cannot believe how many frames of animation everything has in this game; it's incredible.

I'm not going to lie and say that I think Monster Hunter is some kind of perfect game. Its controls are a bit of a mess, the amount of information you need to stay on top of to play is comical, and its onboarding for new players is pretty poor. Friends tell me that Rise demonstrates substantial improvement in a lot of areas, which I really hope is true, because I'm totally stuck in it and have so much trouble pulling others in.

Monster Hunter Rise is immensely satisfying in the way that it nails the feeling of triumphing over powers greater than yourself. One of its biggest strengths is that there is HUGE room for customization in your play style. There are tons of different weapon varieties available and it just feels good to look through what options are available to you and whittle it down to what's most comfortable. It takes a lot of experimentation and I cannot recommend playing without at least one friend, but it's truly a blast to take on daunting challenges with someone, coordinating how and when you're going to try to take on each progressively harder monster. Added bonus, most of the time you don't even have to kill the monster, you can catch it instead!

When I was told about Outer Wilds for the first time, the very first thing I heard about it was I needed to do everything I can to avoid spoilers. "If there is one game you don’t want spoiled in your life, it’s Outer Wilds." Everyone around me had nothing but vague, overenthusiastic praise, assuring me that it's an experience I owed it to myself to have. It got built up in my head as something to save for when I needed it, and simultaneously something that would probably never live up to the hype.
I started playing a couple weeks ago and have not been able to stop thinking about it since. I don't know that I can say everyone was right or wrong about the things they told me about it because nobody gave any details, but I can definitively say this: I'm so glad I finally got around to playing it. It's practically perfect, for me.
It's about curiosity and exploration and discovery and wonder, and it's about doing wacky ♥♥♥♥ to see if it will work and the feeling that you're a genius when it does. It's immaculate. The level of thought and effort that went into this shows itself everywhere, constantly. It's perfectly written and perfectly designed and in a way, it's perfectly paced, hahaha.
I can't say it's for everyone. I know it's not. I have plenty of friends who wouldn't get half as much out of it as I did! I do however think you owe it to yourself to try it out if you're curious. You'll definitely have a good idea of whether this is for you or not in under 2 hours.

A Short Hike is a small, beautiful experience that takes place over the course of about an hour if you rush, or up to a few hours if you really try to squeeze everything you can out of it. It is 100% worth your time no matter how you choose to play it, however.
Mark Sparling's sensational soundtrack carries you seamlessly into the world of this idyllic island park.
Adam Robinson-Yu's writing as you speak with the other characters reveals genuine personality among interactions ranging from silly to sincere and heartfelt.
One of my favorite games of all time, A Short Hike is immersive and smart and gorgeous, yes, but the absolute star of the show has to be how unexpectedly satisfying and fun it is to fly around the gorgeous locale, finding new places you couldn't reach before after each new discovery.
I cannot recommend it enough.

Not only am I disappointed with the decisions made recently that affect how this game can be played, like the multi-pronged attack on mods and modders alike, but what really disgusts me is the response by those in charge to the frustration of the members of the community. I understand that the devs "have been ready" for the outrage, but what says more about how little you care about people positively engaging with your platform than treating them like idiots when you KNOW you're doing something that's going to upset them??? This might not be the final nail in your coffin - I'm still gonna use the platform for as long as the people I love do - but from the bottom of my heart I'm disappointed in VRC and ready to jump ship as soon as someone makes half a passable alternative.

A lovely, calm little puzzle game that slowly expands on a central core mechanic in interesting ways.
