So after absolutely loving the game, I look at the steam reviews and am fairly surprised. Seems people won't recommend it because of the fact it's less funny and technical issues, which there are. I myself recieved a few sound errors that required me to restart the game, as well as some frame drops which were fixed when I just decided to play in full screen rather than borderless windowed, but I didn't think they were significant enough to just not play the game.

Addressing the humor though, I feel like a lot of people assume all South Park is for is to be funny. That's fine for them, but as far as I'm concerned, South Park is a satire. Satires are not always funny. If you just wanna play the game to get laughs, it may disappoint you. I know I laughed a few times, never anything truly gut busting, but to me, South Park is an amusing take on current issues. And this game easily outperforms the Stick of Truth in that market. Both are good, but I enjoyed this one's story much more.

Lastly are the mechanics, which are in my opinion and improvement of the strictly turned based system of the last game. Including a grid and placements for abilities make it a lot more difficult. And true to the Stick of Truth, the combat is pretty simple early on but can and will kick your ass if you don't know what you're doing by the end of the game. It might not have a lot of depth, but all the characters and their abilities make it amusing enough to carry you through it.

I might not understand the haters of the story, but if you actually enjoy South Park, I feel like you'd enjoy this.

Like cyberpunk, girls calling you poppy, or shoot'em ups? Than this game is for you. Recommends playing it on hard and that's what I did. No idea how difficult it is on easier levels but the game certainly kicked my ass until I figured out ways around an encounter.

Love this game.

Take-Two doesn't support single player mods all of a sudden.

All of a sudden ♥♥♥♥ Take-Two.

This is easily, at this point in time, the greatest game I've ever played. The way it weaves it's gameplay, story, music, and, even you, as the player, together into one solid experience still has me in awe. Get all five of the main endings. It's worth it.

A game that proves you can take a bland setting with boring mechanics and make it something with actual character and story.

Due to recent changes and those in charge of the game taking some very aggressive stances towards people with differing opinions, even going as far as to victimize themselves, I can't support this game any longer, and that breaks my heart. As someone who's always really enjoyed heist and stealth gameplay, I hope those of you that still enjoy the game can continue to do so.

Adios Payday 2, thanks for the fun times.
