First off, don’t get fooled by the 117 hours — some of those were spent sleeping while I left the game on, lmao. The game ran pretty smoothly overall. Didn’t hit any major bugs, so that’s a huge plus. It felt polished on release & that's pretty rare these days sad to say. Anyways the gameplay’s solid and fast paced, though a bit simple for my taste. It’s fun in the moment, but I kinda wish there was a little more depth to it for more varied builds. That said, there’s definitely a nice dopamine hit when you pull off something dope, like drop-kicking a Venatori Mage off a cliff or taking down a boss dragon.

On the flip side, I caught myself rolling my eyes a lot during the dialogue. A lot of it felt forced or just didn’t land right in a supposedly used to be "dark fantasy" setting, There were a few conversations that were actually pretty enjoyable most of them from Solas and Morrigan, but they were far too few. I liked how the random banter companions have from time to time tho and I've never heard any of them reuse lines in the game, It was like they always had something new to talk about with each other. The pacing of the story also felt kinda off, especially in the beginning and middle. They could’ve spent more time fleshing out the early parts, like how Rook met Varric and got recruited. It felt like we jumped in without really getting to know Rook that well, and I think that hurt my connection to the story.

The build-up to the ending was probably the weakest part for me. There wasn’t really a sense of urgency, like the world was about to fall apart or anything. It was like, yeah, things are bad, but it didn’t feel like the clock was ticking. But then, in the last few hours, it started to pick up. The stakes got higher, the plot twists started hitting harder, and I finally felt that tension. Those final hours really made me think the devs were finally cooking. It gave me a short glimpse of that prime BioWare era with the Mass Effect 2 suicide mission vibe going on.

So overall, it’s a solid game, but the story could’ve been a lot more engaging, and the pacing could’ve used some work. The ending and overall polished feel of the game though? Definitely made up for a lot of the other flaws. Buy it on a decent discount and play it.
