As someone who has dumped plenty hours into Ark, this one is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I am genuinely so dissatisfied. I was very excited to try this one just to be met with crappy frames and copy and paste content. And no I don't want to hear about how you tweaked 38 graphics setting to make it barely playable. No my PC is phenomenal. Just stop Its ass don't even bother.

I'm not in the mood to write a whole novel so here are some of my favorite things about the game and some cons you should have a look at before buying.

PROS:
Game is cheap with simple mechanics
Decent sized map
AI "hunters that you can kill for loot, base raiding included
With weaponry the animals are pretty easy to kill
Co-op so yes your friends can play
you can easily sink 100 hours into this game
interesting survival concepts (heat and cold sensitive)
CONS:
grind is unbearable you will be grinding all the time
some items have to be found and can't be crafted
often times the items that are needed to be crafted are rare
animals can quickly take over your base at any point due to the spawn and leveling system
food is a catch 22 you need ammo to kill and you need food to be able to find ammo so it's pretty annoying, sure you can forage but you won't find much and its basically no nutrition.
the spawn area for loot around your character only so if you travel you will wait a while for loot to spawn
The ai enemies often have guns before a base, which are incredibly difficult to obtain, so battles are one sided


I could go on and on but this is already to long. If you want to play this game and enjoy it you will have to grind until you are about 10 hours in. at that point you should have a decent amount of ammo and weapons which you can use to raid the ai bases. Ai base loot is the best you can get in terms of resources.
Overall in late game I love this game but fresh starts SUCK and you will consider a refund. I'm really just hopeful devs will make this game better and it doesn't stay early access for 20 years.
