Absolutely fantastic game. Perfectly captures the feeling of classic Infinity Engine games but also holds it's own with an amazing story, outstanding voice acting and really well fleshed out companions (big highlight for me)!

The dialogue system is very robust and greatly add to the actual role-play element of the game (Obsidian are great at this). I played as a female elven ranger, who was passionate, honest and benevolent and the game reflected my actions and the reputation I gained. Also, the quality of the writing is superb! This is a huge plus because half of the time spent in the game is reading text, and it's so worth it.

The combat is a solid variation of the classic RTWP formula and the nontraditional classes fit really well in the game. I like that it caps at Lv12, as I prefer to be the underdog rather than overpowered, since this is more akin to tabletop RPGs (low level is when it's risky and exciting!). There are plenty of side quests, tasks and bounties to dig your teeth into if you like a good challenge. If you don't, a lot of the encounters have nonviolent ways to resolve them too, which is also very useful at times.

The stats and whatnot are somewhat unique, taking ideas from the old AD&D 2nd Edition up to more modern concepts. I won't go into depth about it, but some things I liked about their system was how each major stat has some value to every class, with dual benefits (eg. Might gives you more Damage and Heal) or how item's stat buffs don't stack (you can't have 2 items that buff the same stat).

The backgrounds and other artwork are absolutely beautiful. I'd go as far as saying it's one the best looking games I've ever played! It's like playing a painting. The music feels like Baldur's Gate or Lord of the Rings and is epic when necessary, charming when wandering around town and immersive enough to never feel tiresome.

Oh and the UI is much better than the old IE games. Lot's of info gets logged in your journal and it works really well (it also writes your biography as you play!). With the party stash loot isn't a hassle at all (unless you play with one of the restrictive game modes).

As a fan of the classic IE games this hit my sweet spot in a major way and I spent pretty much a whole week glued to the game until I finished. Now I look forward to doing a play-through as an arsehole.

They are still patching up some bugs (never encountered any serious ones) and still balancing a few things I believe, so feel free to wait as they iron out the kinks, but honestly I can't recommend this game enough. It's my favourite RPG since the Baldur's Gate series and I can't wait for any upcoming expansions/sequels.

Although this game kinda feels like it was designed to be a pay-to-win Facebook game, the puzzle mechanics are brilliant. It takes a bit too long to progress but if you get into it you start to devise great little strategies to build the biggest city you can. If the meta-game was better and there were more levels I would recommend this game to everyone, but the content does fall a bit short. So be advised. All this game really has to offer is a solid core mechanic.

So, if you are the type of person who likes to play Tetris constantly trying to beat your own high score (like me) then this game is for you. Otherwise, maybe not.

This was the first video game to make me cry. The character development in this game is truly impressive!
