This would be a decent game, albeit missing some of the magic of it's prequel. Unfortunately, it's not. I'm running windows 7 with a GTX 980, and of half the matches I've played, I've crashed before the match completes. Sadly, I can't rejoin the match it seems.

I've played every Civ game including Alpha Centauri. I'm a pretty big fan of the games in general, but this one is a lame duck in my opinion. The tech tree is messy and nonsensical, there are no faction specific units or buildings, and the unit progression is lame. It is in every way significantly less good of a game than Alpha Centauri. The fluff is boring, the end game is boring, the world interaction is boring. Even though Alpha Centauri was an alien world, it was easy to 'understand'. The tech blurbs were sensible, the 'memoirs' phase of leadership added great fluff, units were awesomely customizable, the tech tree made sense.

Beyond Earth doesn't make much sense, doesn't really seek to appeal to the user. Building a wonder feels boring. Resources feel somehow both boring and disconnected.

It is literally like they took the worst parts of Civ 5 and the worst parts of Alpha Centauri and made a game from that.

There are some tiny UI improvements, I guess.

This game is really bad. It's so bad that I will never play it again after originally playing it believing I must be 'missing out' on something in the game. The map is deceptive, only a small portion of it is playable regardless of progress, the item system is uninspiring, the weapon variety is sad, and the long term playability is absolutely crushed by a lack of any serious gameplay content.

I've played a lot of Arma 2 Dayz, as well as great mods for Arma 3, and I have to say booting up DayZ Standalone was a huge disappointment.

The overall quality of the mod is far under what I would have expected after playing excellent enhancements of the Arma 2 DayZ mod, and feels particularly dated when pitted up against free, quality Arma 3 survival mods like Breaking Point. This is the pillar issue that ripples down into everything else; clunky controls that make loot distribution and an updating UI a moot point, lackluster terrain and object modeling, repetitive textures and poor performance that defeat whatever immersion we get from being able to have different shirts and pants. Regardless of whatever this mod promises in the future, it's very foundations are flawed.

Rocket, do yourself a favor, take our money we paid you for this, and hire that poor kid Bohemia Interactive tried to sue to port your stuff into Arma 3.
