Simply put, the best sci-fi space sim. Don't be fooled by how many hours I've played here, I've beaten this game 5 times when I had it on CD, and it never gets tiring. Making it work from Steam requires a bit of internet-reading, but it's worth the effort.

Freespace 2 tricks you into thinking it's something simple, but as it goes, you start to care about the story, about the major actors in play (be it ships, factions, threats) and what starts with a pair of lasers can easily end with 30 huge ships shooting energy beams at each other, while you only wish to get through this in a whole piece. When it comes to space sims (and I dare say, games in general) few of those have managed to blend so well feelings like wonder, helplessness and pure joy in a single package.

And yes, despite being from 1999 and still being very much alive due to the modding community, we all want a Freespace 3 (Volition itself included!).

For those who likes games, this is a very welcome addition to your library.
For those who never played a space simulator, I suggest giving this one a try.

Quase 20 anos e ainda continua sendo um dos melhores e mais divertidos RTS, principalmente quando se joga entre amigos!

Acabei de comprar as novas expansões (The Forgotten, Rise of the Rajas e African Kingdoms), e não vejo a hora de ver o que as novas civilizações vão oferecer!

Mesmo que um novo Age of Empires esteja vindo por aí, AOE 2 vai estar sempre no comecinho da fila para jogar! Recomendadíssimo.
