Tom Clancy's Breakpoint is basically a sequel to Wildlands, since it references past game lore a lot to explain its plot.

Sadly, it's a HUGE downgrade. Biggest example: there's no more planes, only choppers. Every vehicle now has a statistic like speed, armor, etc etc, which means once u find the best, there's no reason to use normal/weaker cars, even for style.

Gunplay feels a bit better, and there's definitely more guns and customization, but it's kinda worthless if the locations are uninspired and every enemy ever is just "Generic american grunt" or "Generic american trained grunt"

Your squad is pure randos with no personal interaction, as canonically you're on a solo mission.

Your played character is supposed to be the same Nomad from Wildlands, but has a different basic appearance and voice actor. He never again makes jokes, funny remarks and the worst, he never EVER says again "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" which is a huge downgrade.

The characters, both friendly and enemy, have no personality as they are all "Generic Genericson". it's literally just a revolution type "us vs the big bad" plot, but with the Tom Clancy's open world gameplay.

If you take this gameplay and remove "Tom Clancy's" from it, it's a good game. But it tries too hard to be Wildlands 2.0 and it fails. Sadly, I can't enjoy it after 15-20 hours of gameplay. Uninstalled with a 6/10 review for at least having the consistency of maintaining a linear universe and decent gameplay

Without spoilers, the TL;DR: Humanity is trash, but you still got love in the end.

TL;DR: 8/10 (unfinished played session review)
+ Great Combat System
+ Neat exploration with no clear direction given.
+ Beautiful landscapes and map design
+ Decent variety of armors and weapons
+ Good variety of enemy AI behaviour (different combat styles)
+ Great community so far
+ Good PVP combat in the open world
+ Fair enough balancing
+ Very good optimization
+ Great transition between zones
+- Meh character creation, quite minimal
+- Randomly getting stuck in eye-candy
+- Every cliff edge is death, no railings and no exceptions
- YOU CAN'T SWIM. Water deeper than your ankles = death
- Hard to master combat system, not very noobfriendly

Gonna write this temporary review while the sale still goes on.
As I only played for like 5 hours and barely even got into the main game, so far the open world aspect of it with random PVP encounters are really neat. Combat system is a bit tricky to get the hang of and it took me about an hour into the game to realise how combos and how stances work, but after realising that it's fair game and easy to learn from there. If I had to compare it to something, I'd say it's a more complex version of For Honor as here are 4 stances and not just 3, and here aren't default attacks, here every player you meet can have completely different attack combinations. In short: you never know what style the other opponent will have, including NPCs, so you gotta adapt on the go and pray you're not slower than them at reacting. Weapons play a role too here as they use the same mechanic as hand-to-hand combat, but I'd say, even with the same complexity, due to the fact that even personal bound weapons can break, master first the hand-to-hand and then try going full melee. There's also powers, and I am sure I didn't unlock them all yet, you may only equip 2 of them. They mostly offer some Crowd-Control or Buff/Debuff or even Self-healing. Those have a neat "combat for mana" system. And even if they only come in handy during a pinch, they are usually game changers.
Still, there's gonna be nothing more satisfying than trying to beat a boss/miniboss 3-4 times, realizing you're underpowered, go back to beating some random players and NPCs, grind some levels and gear, coming back to that boss just to stick it up it's arse and getting that sweet, sweet progress and loot. This game really makes you feel like a badass for just straight up beating random people who you can't even interact with other than some default/purchased emotes.
There's no minimap and almost no indication as to where you have to go to make progress, but even as open as the world is without any loading screens and all, it's still quite the straight narrative style, exploration is cut off by these conveniently placed bushes or fallen rocks that block your path as if it's a cliche 80's movie.
The unclear sense of direction makes you always wonder if you're going the right way or if you're making progress at all, until you find these neatly placed concrete squares or rarely beacons that act as respawn point or a safe place, which when used grant you invincibility to attacks from other players and NPCs. Just 1 tip in case you want to try this game: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM. The approach of this game is a clear "Go in and figure out what you have to do" thing which I personally really like. Despite the playerbase being kind of scarce, I must admit I found a few people here and there, despite it being night hours (2-4 AM), some people friendly which just walked around waving and randomly kicking you then waving again and others straight up engage in combat to death (which in my opinion, feels most satisfying to defeat),
I'd recommend this game definitely. Full price? I'm not sure yet, as mentioned this is a 5 hour gameplay progression review and I got the game on 60% sale. For that price and for anything above 50% sale I'd say it's worth for the experience. For the full price i can't recommend it yet, but that I'll update soon.

Unoptimized trash with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ players + unfriendly and unprofessional support team

Stay away from this game for a good experience.
