This is the story of me, Tyler. I was born and raised in London, England. My father, and his father had all served in the military. I thought that I must follow in there steps. I finished school at the age of 18. I started to look into the military career. I joined the British Army and was on tour for 2 years, with leaves at intervals of 5 months. I fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom, during which I was promoted to a officer for my combat prowess and my ability to lead. It had been almost 11 years since I had seen combat, as I was training troops and commanding operations. During one of my leaves, I was watching the news and heard about a infection spreading rapidly in the country of Chernarus. I simply believed it would soon be under control and everything would go back to normal. However, I kept up with the story and found out the situation was only worsening by the day. About 15 days into the infection, the UN had been authorized to send in peace keeping forces to help contain the situation. I was informed that I was to be assigned to a squad to lead in help with controlling the spread of the infection. I was flown out of the United States and landed in Chernarus by the next day. On day 17 I was assigned my first order; It said I was to take my squad of 5 men (including myself) and help maintain order in the town of Gorka. The CDF and my squad were able to maintain order for 1 day, before everything got out of hand. My squad lost 2 men, Private Charles and Corporal Smith. The rest of our squad was able to escape unscathed. We were unable to come into radio contact with our HQ, and we were left stranded. Private Miles, Private Faulkner, and myself decided we should move out Rogovo to see how things were holding up over there. We began to move out and it took 2 days to get there. During the fist night when we set up camp, we were ambushed by 2 infected, and they bit Private Faulkner. He survived the attack but was bitten. I decided to put one in Private Faulkners head, as we heard confirmed reports that being bitten was almost a sure way of getting infected. When we reached Rogovo, it was over run and Private Miles ran off runing and I was left alone. I tried to continue north and regroup, but it was one month after the initial outbreak, and no one was allowed out of the country. We heard reports of helicopters and planes being shot down by the Russian military as ambassadors and public officials were trying to leave the country. Once I heard of these reports, I knew no one would come to save us. The Russian military was also shooting down civilians that approached the border. Soon after, the civilians started to riot once they realized no help was coming from the outside, and they were stranded. I was able to escape from the hordes of looters with nothing but the cloths on my back and a few essentials. Since then I have been drifting in between towns hoping to find friends or some bit of news about the outside world.
