I think its kinda short for its price, unless you count the time in new game+. Im never getting past that.

Spiral knights is a nice MMO time sink, the first M should be taken out though.

The gameplay is simple.
Hack, slash, shoot, and blow up enemies again and again, repetitive, but this is what you get from a free game I suppose.

Spiral knights is extremely grindy, the game purposely gives you very few alchemy orbs which are materials essential to making and upgrading gear. You can buy orbs with energy though, for roughly 7k crowns (the games normal currency), you can trade for 100 energy (the premium currency). Like warframe, basically everything can be earned for free given the time.

The servers are b a d
like really, really bad.
Constant rubberbanding, teleporting, phantom hits, etc.
You would think with only 500 or so players playing, the load on the servers would be just a bit lower.

A little problem this game has is the longer you play, the more you will start to lag until the game becomes unplayable, and a reset is required.
Its a memory leak caused by java, which is hilarious to me that they havent fixed it yet.
Luckily you can freely leave and rejoin sessions without loss of loot, so for the most part, the memory leak isnt a problem.

The endgame is nothing short of barren. After completing the final mission, you are thrown into the main hub with basically nothing to work with. After all the grinding you did before, the only things left are the shadow lairs. To get to those, you gotta get 1800 energy for one key to unlock one lair, which is about 135k crowns per key. Once you scrape enough crowns to get 2 keys and agonizingly crawl through these dungeons, you get to make top tier armor, for what exactly? More farming. Which in the end, is meaningless at that point. After the Shadow lairs, youve experienced everything. Not to mention the game has been completely abandoned by its developers, its almost guaranteed the game will never receive a content update ever again.

To put it short, its a free grindy hack and slash with a charming artstyle. Give it a try, it doesnt take up much space.

FIX THE MULTIPLAYER

Economy sucks, community of scammers, lacking gameplay.

Man, just get Minecraft
