The game itself is ok, fairly standard time management game, but it has some issues like multiple passengers showing up at the same time asking for the same item (when you only get one of that item at a time). If the gameplay issues are fixed I will change this to positive because it really is an enjoyable game, but needs some TLC. Also, please generate a non-temporary discord invite link as the one I clicked in-game was a temp and I kept getting removed from the discord as a result.

Yeah, no. Wonky camera at times, finicky hit detection with levers and enemies, and GOD the piranha gibbering sound. Save your money.

(Yes, I realize most of this review will sound negative, but I can't in good conscience say "no, don't play this game")

The gameplay had a lot of times where some element or other (often platforming-related) was janky. The lack of precision hurts playability quite a bit. There were also a lot of questionable design choices that were more frustrating and "why tho?" than good, like how one spin of the wrench only *almost* reaches electric charge or not having save points replenish your damaged tweak slots (especially given that many save points have mini statues nearby that you can keep respawning to repair....c'mon, quality of life, dude). Many boss fights were messy and obtuse, and the story was...well, the story was. Overall I say give it a go if you can get it on sale, but keep your expectations in check. I didn't hate it, but there's a lot here that's one tweak away from a good design decision. Ending the review on a positive note, the art is comfy-charming and evokes pixel-era gaming very well.

Bland as hell. It's like if oatmeal were a game. I can't recommend this at any price point but definitely not full.

Other than chapter 9, absolute crap. Ripped off even at half price.

9 and 10 are a bunch of cheap deaths, the only saving grace of which is a checkpoint save system that's *still* not enough sometimes. And after replaying 7 and realizing just how flawed it is, I'm almost afraid to go through 8. Yikes. Save your money unless you enjoy a ton of fake difficulty.

I don't know why I bought this, if I'm being totally honest. 9 was a lot of cheap kaizo nonsense. 10 was a lot of cheap regular nonsense. 11 is more cheap regular nonsense with a dash of cheap kaizo nonsense, but with the added bogus of the stages going on for about twice as long as they need to.

Positives:
Graphics are pretty, slide and charge shots are rightfully restored, boss fights actually kind of interesting*

Negative:
Voice acting is wooden, music is the most bland I've ever heard in a MM game, *but if you don't learn every tell immediately, you get to drag your ass back through the whole stage, stages go on far too long, Double Gear system is straight-up button bloat, no checkpoint save, which...if you're going to make a game with this many design flaws, not the least of which is overlong stages, you could at least have the decency of not making players repeat the whole f***ing level, and frankly lives are a badly antiquated game mechanic in 20XX

This game is FANTASTIC. Fast-paced action with gorgeous food art, disgruntled looking customers, and one of the most solid and diverse soundtracks I've heard in a long time. Having some trouble with the fast pace? Never fear, just turn on Chill Mode and never worry about customer patience! With the customizable upgrades, massive diverse menu, and robot snark, I find myself coming back to it again and again.

I definitely recommend this title to anyone who's a fan of SNES RPGs. It has an overall great story with relatable characters and motivations, a fun take on turn based combat, and a surprising amount of depth in party configurations. Even near the end of the game, I was discovering new synergies between the different party members. +1 for LGBT characters represented without feeling shoehorned in, just feels like they exist naturally in the game world which was refreshing to see.

Also, enemy encounters are represented by (usually avoidable) sprites on the map. As someone who is not a fan of random encounters, this felt perfect as it let me do only exactly as much combat as I wanted to in a given area before moving on/tackling the boss/whatever.

Overall this was a solid 16 bit experience and well worth the purchase.

Great gameplay, solid soundtrack, dev team actively working on balance and new content, what's not to love?
