tl;dr - brilliant.

The only question you might have (since it's free) is - "Is it worth my time?"
Oh, absolutely.

All the short movies are very well produced, have great storylines and leave us wanting more.
It's a crime that something of this quality goes for free, when thousands of dollars are being spent on crappy dlcs.

Finally.
A game that makes me feel like a man.
Gore 10/10 and lots of swearing.

This was my first pc game lmao.
This, and Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed.
Those were the days, I swear.

Anyway, this is one heck of a game.
Back when this released, games didn't get much better than this. The superb (and cheesy) voice acting and plot makes it seem more like a movie than a video game.

Max Payne as a character is very compelling, gameplay is really fluid and the enemies are pathetic enough to make this a very enjoyable experience.

The pump action shotgun is definitely overpowered. Bullet Time and Shootdodge make you feel like a god, basically.

My friends and I used to talk about this game for hours in school, replaying it today brings back so many memories. Naturally my review might be a little biased, but I say go for it.
You won't regret it.

I swear, this game was my life when it first came out.
Years later when I bought it, I spent weeks playing it, even though I 100% ed everything years ago. It's a very enjoyable game.

The sequel isn't worth buying at full price, but this sure is.
It's a game where you're virtually indestructible, yet somehow the missions end up being quite challenging sometimes.

To have a smooth experience, always try to complete challenge missions to gain xp and unlock all abilities or some missions might end up being impossible, depending on your difficulty.
Also, get the skyjack ability as early as possible, to be able to hijack helicopters much easily.
You can do a lot more with a helicopter than with tanks (yeah, you get to fight in tanks) which aspect is pretty well balanced, as helicopters can be taken down easily, if you're up against a few.
Also, towards the end of the game, super-soldiers appear and make your life a lot more difficult.
Always dodge them and take them out quickly.

Interestingly enough, this game runs well enough on a potato but there really is no change in difficulty if you play this at low fps.

I'd recommend this if you're into killing infected [ I really liked this term in the context of this game ] monsters and wreaking havoc.
The great storyline was an added bonus. [ I found it great, some might call it cliche-d but back then I was a kid! ]

This game isn't for the faint of heart.
Even so, it's oddly relaxing.

It's a traversal game, with a huge amount of fun, provided you don't take it too seriously.
(best played with casual music in the background)
Maps are long and fun to play.
CS fans will have a blast playing this, because it looks and plays a lot like 1.6.

One word of advice though : the tutorial isn't good enough.

As long as you've played fps games before, you should have no problems diving headfirst into it.
If you haven't however, you'll have literally ZERO fun before you cross 100 hours.
I don't want to scare people away, this game is definitely worth playing, but I have to be honest.
You NEED to have played fps before, or the mechanics will seem really frustrating and will take a lot of getting used to, put simply.
Past that, it's a lot of fun.

First off, it's really hard to write an unbiased review becuase I have played DMC3 and DMC4, and yes, I was kinda disappointed at how childish and totally oblivious this new Dante is, compared to the one before.
Character-wise, I'd the say the one thing that put me off a little bit at the beginning is how Vergil was apparently doing the right thing and Dante didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about freeing humanity.
That's not the Dante I knew.
I was almost horrified at what the reboot brought me.
However, after finishing the game on multiple difficulties, my opinions changed a bit, hopefully you'll agree with them.

Rating : 8/10

The game has one of the weakest storylines I've ever come across, and I myself could probably have written a better one, but the combat outshines almost certainly, ALL of it's predecessors.
It's a bit easier, since some enemies can only be killed with a certain type of weapon, so you end up getting more points without having to hitch up a crazy combo, but it's absolutely insane how flawlessly enemies can be juggled together.
Almost every enemy can be parried, which makes one want to play one the higher difficulties just to feel less like a god.
And not in a bad way, because it's not that easy, really.

Major pros of the game :
+Animations : Being dragged into Limbo City is visually breathtaking, every single time
+Traversal : It's a lot smoother, and more believable to be honest
+Combat : Obviously, this is like 95% why people are recommending the game
+Soundtrack : ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the soundtrack's awesome. Noisia and CombiChrist! I love both!
+Performance : Excellent, no stupid crashes till date, no nothing. If it runs on my potato, you can run it too.
+Devil Trigger : The Devil Trigger of the reboot is really cool. Not to mention that you deal a sh!tton of damage too.
+Level Design : Another thing I should mention, it's really well done.
+Training Mode : It's really cool feature where you can try out combos on dummy enemies.
It's much cooler than it sounds, check it out.
+New Difficulties : I won't spoil anything, check them out.
+Bloody Palace Mode : Yeah!! It's available as a free DLC, which is great!!
+Less sexualization : One thing that used to put me off a little bit was how the women in Devil May Cry were overly sexualized, as if the target audience was solely composed of couch potatoes with no lives. Kat, in this game is a much welcome change. I'm not saying this is a game for 6 year olds, but a lot of the unnecessary sexualization has been done away with, and I second that.
+Vergil's combat style is on point : That's another tiny thing I noticed, and liked. Dante and Vergil have vastly different fight styles. That's even more obvious if you get the Vergil's Downfall DLC, because you get to play as Vergil.
+Excellent Motion Capture : If you watch closely you'll get to appreciate how well done this is. It's truly reminiscent of the earlier Devil May Cry titles. I loved it.

Now, cons :
-Characters : Maybe because I've played DMC before, but this game was a disappointment because of the lack of a good story. You can almost forget the game has a story, after completing it on the first playthrough.
There's also a general lack of compelling characters, aside from Mundus, the main villian.
There's also little known about Kat, aside from the fact that she had a troubled childhood and uses squirrel s*m*n in her magic.
-Humour : Dante used to be a comical genius, in DMC4 he was a total menace, I have to say, and I used to enjoy that about him.
Now, this new Dante takes himself a bit too seriously, and he's kinda out to take revenge to be honest (at least that's what he supposed to do) so we don't get that. It's not like there's no humour, but it's adult humour, lots of well placed f*** you's and a bunch of swearing.
This makes him less sexy in my opinion, but we'll have to deal with it.
-Swearing : This is very minor to me, because I'm 20 and it really doesn't matter to me, and to be honest, the comic timings are always on point. But it's way too American-ish, in my opinion.
Gone are the days where Dante would totally roast his opponent with witty punchlines, here he just swears at them.
^Implies he's a lot less smart, anyway.
-Vergil's a pu$$y : I can't stress this enough. Throughout the game, Vergil seems to overly rely on Dante for all the fighting, inspite of carrying the Yamato everywhere. He can hack and sh!t, but he can't fight to save his life.
I didn't like that big a difference in power between Dante and Vergil.
It's like, Dante's the hothead who doesn't know what he's doing, and Vergil's the ♥♥♥♥♥ who's yelling instructions.
^This wasn't throughout the entirety of the game, though.
I'm only saying this because I wanted a much more badass Vergil, the type of guy you can love and hate at the same time.
-Not a 100% PC Game : No surprises there, like all of it's predecessors, it's played best with a controller. I had some difficulties navigating because the game kinda get's over-saturated with the information that the mouse sends.
I'm not saying it's a major flaw, it's just not CS:GO. :P


Buy it.
No need to 100% it, buy it to enjoy it.
Because, despite failing as a strong Devil May Cry game, it's definitely among the very best when it comes to hack and slash titles.
If you love hack and slash, you won't complete your collection without it.
If you've never played DMC before, you might even enjoy the story.
If you're a DMC fan, and a Ruben Langdonthe coolest guy in history! loyalist, you'll get triggered, like I was.
But that didn't stop me from enjoying the game.
At the end of the day, it's a solid hack and slash title, and Ninja Theory, for the record, are some pretty badass people in their own right.
I hope this was helpful.

It's an extremely cute game, so there's that.
But it's frustrating to have to replay entire levels becuase of no checkpoint system.
It's F2P, so I'm giving it a thumbs up, otherwise not.

This is the very First game you should buy when it's on sale.
I got it for 36 INR (cheaper than a pack of chips) so I'm rather pleased with myself.
As for the game,
Pros :
+Great story for a point and click game!
+Nice visuals
+Has the adventure feel to it, which is quite hard considering it's only 2D
+No timed puzzles, so it can be played at any pace
+No irritating 2D fights, only interactions and puzzle solving
+Voice-acting's not as lame as other point and click titles (especially the bartender lol)
+Excellent narration

Cons :
-A little short (took me around 3.5 hours to 100% it)
-Zero replay value.
-It's a great game, but not worth 369 INR, come on.
-Sexist (female characters have zero contribution to story)
-Racist (there's a black bartender with a gun)
-Homophobic (no guy-on-guy action)
-Anti-environmentalist (protagonist has to MURDER AN INNOCENT POISON IVY PLANT!! HOW COULD HE!!! :'((((( )

Like I said, get it on sale.

Positives :
+Open world racing's always welcome.
+Massive crash animations, check out some YT gameplay.
+Long playtime. (unlocking cars and stuff)
+Really smooth driving overall. (Note : not all cars are equally responsive obviously)
+Having multiple event types is refreshing, racing a bunch of people gets really boring sometimes.
+No performance issues, gave me 0 crashes and/or huge fps drops till date.
+Encourages cruising : There are billboards you can smash through and timed challenges on every road.
+Music's great, especially the title track : Paradise City by Guns N' Roses that welcomes you every time the game's launched. Feels great.
+No in-game money system, just drive through repair and paint shops.
+Barrel roll level 9000.

Negatives
-Bike challenges were un-needed imo, and bikes aren't that fun to drive across the same city that's been explored 100 times plus using cars
-Cinematic crashes might look great, but they shave off vital seconds off your race time, which means your opponents keep moving forward while you wait for your car to lose momentum.
^this is fair in online gamplay, but NO one plays online anymore (sad, it's a beautiful game) which means it's frustrating to see AI-s rubber band you and take you down (yeah, AI can and will take you down. adds to the fun, though)
-No fast travel, so in case I want to replay a race i just lost, I have to drive ALL the way back across the map to the start point. And some races are really long, so unless I race my way back, it's boring to drive back the same route I just came through.
-I would have liked a more helpful GPS.
(The indicators are freakin amazing, though. Saved my ass multiple times.
In case you don't get it, where the GPS fails, the indicators tell you to turn right or left and basically guide you to your destination.)
-Very limited customization
-DJ Atomica needs a punch in the face.
^tried to punch him through my monitor : "Try not to crash."
Whatever.
-No players.
Should'nt have added this in the cons, but had to.
It's really unfortunate and kinda frustrating, really, to buy this game and not be able to play this online.
-Ultimate Box Edition doesn't contain 100% of DLCs.
(The DLCs are inaccessible because the Burnout Store has been shut down and doesn't plan on re-opeing. You'd have to sign into Origin and search the store for Burnout Paradise to buy the DLCs. Costs 99 INR.)

It's not just a game, it's piece of racing history.
There'll never be a game like this again, so buy it.
You don't have to 100% it, just play it to enjoy it.

There's even a Party mode where you can play with your friends or family (taking turns).
There's no reason for me to give it a downvote, despite all cons.
There's obviously the fact that I bought it recently because it's huge part of my childhood too.
But even if I were to buy it and play it today for the first time, I'd have a hell of a good time.

No surprise that this game's Overwhelmingly positive on Steam.
For a start, it feels and plays beautifully.

I'm pretty sure these guys are crazy about the Portal series, otherwise this level of effort into an f2p mod/fan sequel is unheard of.

The one point where this game reminds you that it isn't made by the guys behind the Portal series is when it loads between levels.

The story's amazing, the characters are so well designed, the voice acting is excellent, level design is top-notch. Some levels made me scratch my head a bit, I loved it!

The devs tried their best to make this game as fun as possible, which the entire Portal community appreciates and so will you, after playing it.

I honestly hope these guys keep up their good work.

The soundtrack is nice!
