When adding text, it automatically creates a new vector layer.
So you can always come back to move or edit your text.
It also allows you to add a text outline as a property, with color and thickness.

I wish something as basic as this wouldn't have to be mentioned for an image editing software, but go ahead and google "how to add a text outline in GIMP (or paintnet)" and you get an incomprehensible 12-step process every time.

Krita has quite a similar UX to Photoshop. Granted, the newest version of PS I used was CS2 from 2005, but I did not have any trouble finding options in Krita that I already knew from PS. Meanwhile I still don't know how to edit rectangle in GIMP.

Krita? More like Kritikally underpriced.
