Woah, that ending hit me like a truck. Probably my favorite conclusion out of the mainline persona games. Persona 3 might not have the well-written social links and gripping plot of 4, nor the scale and grandeur of 5, but its portrayal of the main characters, themes of death and loss, and closing chapters of the game easily make up for it.

Some complaints though - game doesn't work quite right out the box. Some graphical bugs are present that require mods to fix. Even though P3R uses unreal engine, I feel that P5R has much nicer visuals despite being an older game. And the $70 price tag is certainly steep.

Soundtrack was amazing, with the exception of maybe one or two songs. Looking forward to the epilogue dlc, although Atlus' pricing decisions leave much to be desired...

Incredibly tedious. I will start with the only (very good) positives: The story, characters, and writing.

Now everything I hated about it:
-All of your items get stripped away at the beginning and your starting weapon does barely any damage
-The enemies are very bullet-spongy and hard to see (more below)
-The map is incredibly confusing to read and you will get lost very easily
-The environment/lighting is so dark and gloomy that it is impossible to see anything
-Two gameplay mechanics: The bomb collar and poison gas. While the gas is a general nuisance, the bomb collar is a total buzzkill. Players unfamiliar with the DLC (like myself) will find themselves frustrated with unfair deaths.
-The final encounter is very anti-climactic. There is no dialogue scene - combat just starts out of nowhere. The alternate ending was so convoluted I had to look up a video walkthrough.

BUT HEY - GOLD BARS AMIRITE?!?!??!! As if this game didn't have enough caps to begin with. I'd say skip this one.

pros:
-combat system is pretty solid
-characters
-no game over when the main character is KO'd (honestly idk why this is even a thing)

cons:
-absolutely horrible dungeon design. the same boring environments are reused over and over again. they are a complete slog. also, ♥♥♥♥ the soul matrix
-majority of the game uses the same background music, and it gets old really fast
-story is meh and too short
-dlc is a joke, didn't even bother
-the navigator is SO ANNOYING, I WISH SHE WOULD SHUT THE HELL UP

def not worth $60. I bothered to grind all the achievements but I already kinda regret it

I'm absolutely horrible at rhythm games but I'm still having a blast. With some practice I hope I can become somewhat decent. The song selection is pretty based as well; I think I'm going to be pretty occupied with this game for a while lol.

The game runs smooth as butter. No stuttering or stuff like that as far I can tell.

Now THIS is a proper 3rd-person action game. If you are one of those dweebs still playing genshin or something stupid like that, please rethink your life

Pros:
-Rules of Nature
-If metal gear were an anime, it would be this game
-Stylish, over-the-top, combat
-Badass protagonist
-Copious amounts of gore
-Amazing soundtrack
-Story is probably canon
-Did I mention Rules of Nature?

Cons:
-Camera is awful
-Graphics feel dated. This game needs a proper remaster
-Teleporting monkeys
-Using subweapons is awkward
-Playing as Sam is too high iq for me (his final boss is total bs as well)
-Some of the VR missions can suck my pp

Pro tip: only virgin losers use murasama. Real chads use hf longsword

Destiny 2 has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the developers have squandered most of it.

PvP
This game should have followed the Halo formula by focusing on PvP while still offering a modest campaign experience. In Destiny 2, PvP feels like an afterthought. Consider the following:
-No server matchmaking, only P2P
-Remember when Trials came back and everyone agreed it sucked? That was entertaining to watch
-Cheating was a huge problem during that same time, not sure about now
-Every time new subclasses or exotics are introduced, balance is thrown out the window. Players who don't have the latest expansions are at a blatant disadvantage. I remember being a vanilla player when Forsaken came out, it was miserable
-You earn the best gear and materials from high-tier PvE activities. So even if you prestige or rank up in Crucible, the game literally doesn't care and gives you crap rewards
-In addition, exotics and god roll weapons/armor are RNG-gated. And the RNG in this game is downright terrible. Therefore, it's likely you'll never achieve your ideal loadout unless you spend hundreds of hours on the grind. Most players will have really jank low-tier armor combos cause they can't be bothered

This really blows because I truly believe that PvP is the high point of the game. I'd even argue that can be better than Halo. The shooting feels 100x better, fast movement speeds up the pace, and the build possibilities are very wide.

PVE/Co-op
You'd think the PvE experience would be much better, yes? Think again.
It feels like all you do in this game is grind, grind, and grind. Considering this is an MMO, this is expected. Some players like it, most hate it. I got so sick of it and it's one of the main reasons I quit.

People claim that the raids are the pinnacle experience of the game. I very much disagree. The encounters are convoluted and take some time to memorize, and trying to carry a bunch of smoothbrains through them is one of the most soul-draining things I have ever done. And just to top it off, the horrible RNG in this game will ensure that you won't be rewarded for your efforts.

The whole story and narrative are just bad. I don't think most players even care about it at this point. People say Halo 4 and 5 are terrible stories, but they actually qualify as stories. Can't say the same about Destiny.

One of the final nails that sealed the coffin for me was weapon retirement. At first it didn't sound so bad, but when I realized that my god roll gear was pretty much unusable in high-level activities, I just couldn't stomach the idea of grinding for everything again. It just shows how the developers just use the nuclear option to patch up the main flaws of the game.

Price
I simply cannot justify spending an upwards of $70+ a year on this game just to stay up-to-date. To add insult to injury, just check the store page for Beyond Light. I wouldn't know since I quit just after Shadowkeep (which was also boring), but the reviews speak for themselves.

Conclusions
Essentially, Destiny 2 is a mediocre, overpriced live service that boils down to the same repetitive grind. It struggles to balance the PvE and PvP aspects of the game. Instead of excelling in one, it sucks at both. When you see people with 1,000+ hours agreeing that the game is boring as balls but they can't seem to put it down, just take that as a huge warning. I've been there before and it feels like purgatory. For the love of the Traveler, play a better game instead.

Also, how's that Dawning event going? It seems like people reeeallly care, lol

One of the best action games of all time, and well deserving of the GOTY award.

Combat is unlike anything I've experienced prior to this game. The way you deflect and dodge attacks and seamlessly transition between offense and defense is just so f***ing smooth. The skills system and prosthetic tools let you mix up combat as well.

The setpieces are one of the best parts of the game. It's basically medieval Japan on crack. Lots of Japanese folklore and religious themes mixed in, which is cultured af. The story and voice acting are solid as well, as expected of From Software.

This game is no pushover, however. It makes Dark Souls feel like a cakewalk. Death is heavily punished and getting two-shot will be common. But I feel like the gameplay is rewarding enough to make you keep going.

The recent update lets you replay boss battles, which makes a perfect game even more perfect. Drop that Genshin garbage and play this, you noobs

Also, ELDEN RING WHEN??!?!?

The story is cute but nothing to write home about. Art, animation, and voice acting all get high marks. However, if you want maximum enjoyment from this game, you're gonna need the 18+ DLC. The H-scenes in this game are nothing short of erotic bliss.
