Terraria is a game that allows you to generate worlds for yourself that you can then go and explore.
This said exploring can be done on the surface level, ground and even some in the sky.
In addition to the exploring there are loads of items to be found and crafted from the various items that you have gained on your way(be it from digging minerals or slaying monsters or heck even from fishing).
If you are more interested in slaying monsters the game does have something for you too as there are multiple bosses that can offer some challenges(specially if you are playing in hardcore and/or expert mode).

The game has had multiple content patches over the years that it has been out(each and every patch being FREE to everyone who happens to own the game now and the future.

There honestly isn't much that I can say that has not been said already about this game.

As a personal note as to why I have enjoyed the game so much is that I simply find the digging and exploring to be extremely comfy and relaxing

If you enjoy playing with your friends puzzle games that require teamwork and would also love to see beautiful colorful graphics, boy do I have the game for you! Trine 2(and soon Trine 1 the enchanted edition) will satisfy both of these needs of yours.

The story of Trine and Trine 2 are not connected, so even if you have not played Trine 1 you dont really miss out anything other than a great game, storywise you miss nothing. :)

In this game you will control 3 different characters(the same ones you used in Trine 1) Zoya the thief, Pontius the knight( and Amadeus the wizard. Each one of these chracters have their own unique abilities that are all needed in the puzzle that you will encounter in the game.

A little bit about the characters:
Zoya: she offers ranged attacking with her arrows(which you can enchance once you gain some levels) and great amount of utility with her hook
Pontius: he is more of the "its time to fight" character with his hammer(which can be thrown but its very slow!) and sword & shield combo. He will gain later on a little bit of utility as well but, that is once you gain some levels.
Amadeus: he offers a great deal of utility. His main ability is to create magical boxes you can jump on to, naturally you will learn to create differnt kind of things when you gain more levels. Amadeus is the only one who can not harm enemies with his abilities alone.
