Short and Sweet mashup of Final Fantasy and Wizardry, an absolute pleasure to blitz through on a weekend afternoon. I'd consider it a very good entry point, though for genre veterans this feels more like proof of concept, a bit on the easy side. I would absolutely love further iteration on this concept, there is a massive amount of potential here.

A beautiful, contemplative art piece exploring a rich folklore. Well worth a weekend afternoon.

Project a friend was involved in, neat little game with some surreal fishing humor.

Played through to prep for Hollowbody.

Nice little walky narrative game with some light survival horror puzzling and excellent, tense sound design (you get a device that hones in on special radio frequencies that completely alters the soundscape)

Tidy little follow up to Ringlorn Saga. Essentially the same fun loop of the original, but the Possession mechanic leads to some AHA moments in both movement, combat, and out of sequence item gathering. Fantastic atmospheric combo of aesthetics and music as is par for the course for Graverobber Foundation. Included are some brief cut-scenes that expand a little more on the game presentation.

More Please!

I was pleasantly surprised by their previous game, Ashen. Flintlock offers way more engaging combat with the axe and guns combo, verticality and platforming centered around in air maneuvering, and world interactions, at the expense of some of the pure, drippingly dark atmosphere of Ashen's dungeon crawling. There are some bits that seemingly don't gel as nicely as one might hope, the setting is dope, trench warfare against the undead and some really nice locales and people that aren't standard fantasy fare absolutely rocks, but the storytelling around the setting is lacking.

Overall it's just fun. It's a game that punches above its weight class, I sunk 22 hours into the game and the brevity is honestly refreshing. Would love to see further refinement of both the setting and mechanics!

Dropping an early review to help boost the game to more eyes, but I've played enough that I don't think my views will drastically change.

First off, it's a gorgeously crafted retro experience. My first thoughts immediately point to the Dwarf Fortress intro but as a full game. A huge point of the charm is exploring this text art world discovering all the new dudes with their lavishly crafted portraits and running into more creatures in the bestiary filled with familiar and unique critters. An excellent accompanying soundtrack as well.

On the gameplay side it's basic but fitting, each character has some unique archetypes to fill on top of the standard attack/magic/item paradigm. There are optional hunts and secrets that offer a fitting challenge.

The story also seems pretty standard, but it's sprinkled with the dev's fitting sense of humor, and its fitting for the holistic retro approach.

Please consider giving this game a shot! It dropped hot into one of the biggest months in indie games and at the same time as Skald, a much higher profile retro RPG.

A tight, wintry, and jazzy mood piece. Extremely good vibes and a fantastic collection of weird lil' guys. The game is bite-sized enough that the cooking game-play is more humorous than frustrating at its most challenging. I crave more from this collective of artists.
