Sorry, I really tried to like this one and I just couldn't. Definitely can't recommend this game at full price, but if it's on a deep sale and you got a couple bucks lying around, then maybe.

First of all, the game is way too short for a $8 game. I 100% the game in 2 hours 20 minutes, and I was going relatively slow. There are 13 'puzzles', but the first few are so simple I hesitate to call them 'puzzles', they're more like linear point and click segments. And the majority of your time in this game is just going to be spent reading the story (which I personally found boring, like one of the other reviewers mentioned, the attempt at making an emotional story is so forced it comes off as disingenuous), and trying to grapple around the terrible controls. Your left mouse button controls *literally everything* in the game, so you're going to frequently remove parts when you meant to move the machine around or install them, and vice versa. Couldn't at least make it so right mouse button rotates the object and left mouse interacts with it?

Should be renamed Splinter Cell Crashlist

Also multiplayer is gone because Ubisoft can't keep a game alive for more than 6 months

Also ♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft

The king of eurojank has returned 🙏🙏

If you're expecting S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Gamma 2, this isn't it. Wait for mods.

If you're expecting a sequel to the standard vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience, this is definitely it.

It does have some performance issues and bugs, it's far from unplayable though (aside from the occasional crash, make sure you save often). I am confident these issues will be fixed over time and I am especially looking forward to mods

Edit: I think it's important to mention that A-Life (important mechanic from the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, if you don't know what it is, look it up) is basically non-existent in the current version of the game. GSC claims that the game does have A-Life but it isn't working due to bugs and will be fixed very soon. I will let you decide whether you trust them on this or not

As far as I can think of this is pretty much the only game of its kind, which surprises me because this game showed me just how badly I've needed a first-person climber. This developer has somehow managed to do the seemingly impossible job of turning complex hand movements into simple KB+M controls, and making it feel natural. The learning curve is just right, it starts out fairly easy and then naturally eases you into the physics and mechanics of this game until you're ready to take on some of the toughest and longest challenges out there. Each climb feels unique and special in its own way, and you definitely feel like you've earned it when you finally get to the top.

I hope there's a VR version of this game at some point, I think that would be amazing and perfect for this kind of game.

One of the best movement shooters I've played, and sorely needed too considering the lack of movement shooters the past few years. The gunplay is great, I like that the game is open-world, and it has a world that's very fun to explore and fits the movement part of this game perfectly, with a great art style too. Exploration is very rewarding too.

My biggest complaint would be the lack of content, especially for a fully released game. I was able to 100% the entire game on the hardest difficulty in only 14 hours, and the main story is pretty short too. Supposedly there is post-launch content coming down the road, I'm definitely looking forward to that and hope it gives this game the much-needed content it deserves. I also had some occasional (but serious) performance issues in parts where there's a ton of flying enemies all grouped together, the bonus scans with extra enemies and flying enemies only were almost unbeatable for me due to this specific performance issue. I have an RTX 3080 and outside of those specific cases the game ran at a great framerate for me everywhere else.
