This game is amazing if you love music and arcade racing. Drive any track is a hell of a lot of fun and if you don't have specific genres there might be some in the built in songs to help you hunt down some of the achievements. Just make sure you play with a controller (xinput only) and turn off auto throttle, you'll have a blast.

Highly recommended, the combat is immersive and the visuals aren't too bad either. Used to play a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of the original on ps2 and I waited for a loooooong time for a PC port (MHF not released or coming here). If you want a game where you yourself get better as well as your gear then give this a go but if you're not into strategic combat against what are essentially boss monsters avoid it like the plague. To each their own you know but to me this is better than other games with a similar combat style (looking at you Dark Souls).

I went through and played the game until wave 29 and just couldn't take it anymore. I was having fun at first but by the time I got to wave 11 I started getting very aggrivated, it's not hard or anything just annoying. Enemies spawn right on top of you so you have to constantly roll to not get hit, this is not good game design. I appreciate that you guys released it for free so I can't really complain I guess but I found myself asking "When is this going to be over"? I don't mean that in a good way either, I was genuinely annoyed by playing this. There is no point to having melee attacks at all in this either, you take way too much damage when attempting to do so and I ended up just using the bow instead. By the time you get the charge shot you realize just how broken the combat is as well, since you can't aim with the second thumbstick you have to use the lock on system which you called strafing for some ungodly reason. How about calling it what it is instead. I didn't know I could lock on until the sixth wave because of it when you decided to put a tutorial message about it in the upper right corner of the screen. You can't call those videos in the beginning a tutorial either, they just show you gameplay with no real description of whats going on. It's a good effort for a student project but if you're going to be doing game design when you get out of school there are a lot of things you need to take into consideration from this project. I honestly do not see a point in this game being released on steam other than to show off your hard work which is probably just copied and pasted from source that is already available on the web. Anyway, back to the lock on system, you'll miss more shots than you'll hit due to having to use it and since you can't aim without moving it makes things much more difficult than it should be. I don't mean difficult as in hard either I mean controlwise this game is garbage. In the later levels you'll find yourself rolling around the entire map until all of the enemies spawn and then leading them single file into your charge shots... this is not fun. If the devs go back and fix a lot of the things in this game for the steam release then I could definitely recommend this but as it stands with the shoddy mechanics and not being able to save your progress for later then I can't. The game isn't very long, two hours at the most but having to play all the way through in one sitting feels like a chore with the mechanics the way they are now. With all that said, I still say good work to the devs because this is great for a school project but I just feel like there should be more to the game than there is for it to really gain traction here on steam. A for effort, D for execution.

So, I beat the re-release of Crimsonland last night. It was fun and it was nice seeing the game updated for HD but it's no where near as good as the original. A lot of things were taken out of the game for some reason, the survival mode is way slower paced and perks aren't enabled in quest mode anymore but those are just a few examples of the many changes 10Tons made. Would I still recommend it? Yeah, the game is just as fun as it always was and the complaints I have are more like nitpicks from someone who remembers the original game. If you like top down shooters and want a game to sink a few hours into when you've got nothing better to do then be sure to give Crimsonland a go, you shouldn't be disappointed. Oh and keep this in mind, quest mode is just the tip of the iceberg with Crimsonland. The real meat of the game comes with the survival modes but just don't go diving head first into survival, you'll want those perk and weapon unlocks from quest mode.

Edit: With recent updates there has been a little bit of a rebalance with the weapons and perks, this makes the game a little easier to start in survival mode but doesn't overdo it. The devs actually listen to feedback as well and try to implement good ideas from those who enjoy the game. Overall still highly recommended.

This is a fun rally racing game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Dirt takes racing gaming back to it's roots and, instead of offering insane amounts of customization offers you a great assortment of real world cars to chose from. Unique cars can be purchased as DLC but you can always just play the game to unlock whats available in the base game. How do you unlock these cars you ask? You unlock cars by winning races and earning reputation which also leads to more rewards such as sponsors and events. Dirt 3 is a solid game all around and definately worth a purchase for any racing fan. Oh, did I mention it has built in youtube uploading as well? Oh well, you'll figure that out on your own ;D
