Warhammer franchise is pretty lame but this game is pretty fun.

I wish the environments were more interesting to look at... Sometimes I get lost because everything looks the same. (per level)

Well, at it's core, it basically is a Battlefield game.

By itself, this game sort of misses the mark for me, it's missing a number of things that I really liked about Battlefield. Things like ribbons/medals, the low poly graphics style, vehicle options... minor things, but ultimately adds up to a lot of what I wanted out of such a game.

There's good stuff too though. It has some cool aspects like rappelling, night maps, dragging wounded and ammo management, and I can appreciate that. Proximity audio chat is lots of fun.

But ultimately, above all, it's cheap and fun with friends, so I'm willing to overlook the flaws especially given there's no real modern competition at this point.

I just wanna play a new Battlefield 3/4 and not have it be broken mannn.

You know the phenomenon called the Tetris Effect? I feel like there should be a Motorways Effect or something. I keep thinking of this game whenever I'm in traffic now.

Very good spooky VN. Felt relatively short, but not in a bad way. More like a... "doesn't drag on" kind of way

XCOM x Darkest Dungeon x Aliens franchise (and a dash of the Nemesis board game style of injury management)

It's a real time strategy game, but you can set the game to pause for tactical decisions, which essentially renders it like a turn-based action game (that plays out in real time when you execute the actions)

I thought it was actually a decent move to make the squad one single unit that you control. It simplifies the game but still has all the bells and whistles of how a proper team might delegate tasks to each marine. A large number of your tactics are going to be smart usage of "Command Points" which slowly (or quickly) recharge over time- meaning you don't need to be afraid of utilizing all your tactics to fight an incoming horde- but also that you can't just carelessly spend them lest you run out mid-firefight.

Negative points so far:
- Some technical issues that could use a good patch or two. I've had the tutorial hang on me once, but I just loaded the last save and we were good. Also performance issue on high settings made me think there was some kind of leak or something somewhere, but reloading fixed that. Just hope there's a big performance patch at some point to make the game a bit smoother.
- The dialogue is alright, but the game character barks can get grating after a while. I'm a huge Aliens fan and I get it, these are tough hombres who yell at each other and say stuff like "MOVE IT SLUGS" or something but like, chill out my man. I'm clicking all over the colony and if I have to hear you call your squad mates SLUGS one more time... plus like sometimes I tell them to slowly walk down the hall and the guy barks out DOUBLE TIME hella loud. Like okay I get it! I think they need to split high-tension and low-tension barks or something.
- While you can set the game to either Bullet-Time or Pause during tactical decisions (there's no limit), if you try to open the map, it resumes real-time combat. I'm not sure if this is an intentional design decision but I feel like opening the map should count as a tactical decision and slow-down or pause time (whichever setting you have enabled)

Very good take on the Colonial Marines... As a huge fan of Aliens and the colonial marines, I've been eatin' good with Fireteam Elite and Dark Descent.

The mechanics of the game are for the most part fine. What you see in the trailer is a pretty accurate representation of gameplay.

It's not the most intuitive UI to work with but once you get things figured out it gets a little more interesting.

It's a fairly chill game in that there's no real threat besides asphyxiation and the occasional dangerous flora.

However, there is a big problem at the moment- it is possible for your save file to get too big and your world becomes a laggy slideshow that can't be fixed. This basically ends your run, as I don't mean a drop from 60 to 30fps, I mean a drop to like 5-10 fps. And there's basically nothing you can do to fix it (at the time of this review)

Overcooked but with restaurant management component built-in.

Less hectic in the sense of no cartoony shifting stages but more hectic in the sense that there's zero room for failure.

Who knew adding a roguelike element to Overcooked could be so good?
