Overall[/h1[It's a fun game. Definitely worth the price.

The good:
Animation style is cute, the nexomon actually look like their element types
Combat animations and screen transitions move at a fast enough pace so they don't become repetitive
Although the story isn't exactly original, it's enough to keep you engaged and focused throughout
Leveling up your nexomon is easy enough that it doesn't feel like a huge grind

The somewhat bad
Early on, there's a lot of handholding, I would pay double the price if I was allowed to destroy Atlas
Skills - There's not a whole lot of variety, in fact you're basically using the same 2 or so skills for the entire game, there's also no way (that I could find) to view damage and hit% chance other than in battle. The skills menu tells you a brief description and the stamina cost.
Menu/UI - After capturing a nexomon or in the PC, there's no way to view a summary of the nexomon. The sound/SFX slider is also either 0% or 100% starting from just 1. It's loud. Really loud. I actually played 80% of the game with it muted. The scrolling text sound is enough to drive you mad but luckily it can easily be turned off
The narrator voice is unfortunate

Summer in Mara initially draws you in with appealing visuals and the chance to explore the open sea and visit islands which other similar games don't have.

After you move past this, you're faced with a game that really isn't sure of its own identity. It's a bad farming/crafting game and also a bad adventure/RPG. The story, quests, characters and dialog are all very shallow and forgettable. There's only one main quest line that does a poor job of trying to make you care about the story. Other than that, the other quests are basic fetch quests. The farming, both animals and crops are honestly a chore with no real consequence of ignoring them. Fishing is really the only mechanic the involves more than just "Press E", but you're limited to about 3 fish at each spot then have to wait for a few days for the fish to regenerate.

I've spent a lot of time and upgraded my boat to the point where I can explore all of the "islands" which again, are also forgettable. It's hard to recommend this game when games like My Time At Portia does basically everything better.

Surprisingly fun game. Not as time or micro managing compared to 'Domina' but very good in its own right. It's very RNG heavy, so try not too feel bad when you get smashed. The God's just weren't on your side.

As you get deeper into the game you're forced to grind more because the monster and rival design just gets stupid (you wanna know why popular games don't have bosses that spam heal themselves? because it's ♥♥♥♥ game design). You're basically forced to grind out teams of monsters to cheese each encounter, especially the Elderjel fight later on, it's the type of fight that saps any further desire to play the game. The monster levels actually scale so there's no outleveling the encounter either, it's cheese encounter to the point that you don't feel any sense of accomplishment after the fight.

Great game that I honestly can't wait to see the full release for. The creator has been very involved with the community and responds pretty quickly. There's a lot of quality of life features and design choices that I wish Stardew had (fast travel early on, day goes by the work done, etc.)

If you're looking for an old school turn-based RPG, this is a great choice. Has nerdy references throughout. The "comedy" does not hold up at all so try to move past it.

I'm probably gonna get blasted for this review, but whatever. The game itself is fun in small doses, it seems to pride itself on being challenging. Here's the thing, I love challenging games when the challenges lend themselves to the game, such as MHW, Dark Souls, etc. This game the challenges come from ridiculous game design choices such a severely limiting healing items, revives, and giving your enemies perfect RNG. Call it strategy or what have you, but it basically leads to a dry and frustrating experience, especially when you're limited movements and forced to go back to town to heal constantly.

This game crashes more than any other game I own. Seriously annoying when you get a few waves deep on higher difficulty only for your game to crash.
