I've played this on and off since launch way back in 2011 and it has some of the best Star Wars storytelling of any medium including the films, comics and TV shows. The agent plot in particularly is absolutely fantastic and the level of detail in the world design and lore is consistently brilliant and engrossing.

There is literally 100s of hours worth of fully voiced content to play through for free and the game is very easy to get to grips with, even if you're an MMORPG novice. Thanks to the Steam launch, SWTOR has also had tens of thousands of new players join the game overnight so the game's environments, chat, PvP and PvE Flashpoints feel full of life with minimal queuing. That has led to an influx of gold farmers in chat sadly, but hopefully BioWare will sort that out soon.

If some of the free-to-play restrictions start to grind when you play, I'd recommend buying some Cartel Coins, the least amount possible is 250, so you get Preferred Player (PP) status. When you are a PP most of the more annoying restrictions are removed. You can still play all of the game's 8 different class story content without paying a penny but I found loosening some of those free-to-play restrictions resulted in a better play experience; more XP, less chat restrictions, use of in-game auction house etc.

For any fan of the Star Wars universe, SWTOR is a must play!

Best racing VR game hands-on. Easy to set up with Oculus Rift (from DK2 onwards) and has some of the best wheel to wheel racing available on the PC. Career mode is also well thought out, taking players from minnow feeder series right up to the pinnacle of open-wheel, touring and GT racing.

The only complaint is the lack of proper licensed content when it comes to premier racing series, but honestly the F1, WTCR and World Endurance licenses aren't missed. Some of the best racing I've had all year has been in this game - race a Ginetta G50 and you never go back! :)

Worth buying for the crazy UGC rides on Workshop alone. A brilliant game that gas stood the test of time. Their first person ride mode is also a blast too.

I've had way too much fun playing this game with friends over the past 12 months. When you roll out as a team and 'merc' a base without anyone hearing a shot, there is no better feeling in all of gaming. One of the best co-op games on PC.

Consider id Software back on form! Doom (2016) is a shining blood-covered light in the first person shooter genre, which if we're all honest is usually dominated by slow, prodding corridor shooters. Doom feels vibrant, fresh and original - which is weird really as so much of its gameplay is borrowed from the series' past.

Combat feels sometimes headache-inducingly fast, but you know in a good way, and the number of guns on offer feel extravagant and varied. Environments are streamlined yet full of secrets if you explore a little bit and the New Game + encourages you to try levels again with all the perks you've earned from previous playthroughs.

This is probably the most fun shooter campaign I've played for a good long while and I never thought I'd say this again, but I'm actually excited to see what id put out next which after Quake 4 and RAGE is a bit of a miracle really.

Welcome back Doom guy, thanks for restoring my faith in the godfathers of the FPS.

A surprisingly polished, licensed open world game which is full of really nice design touches. Strangely beautiful and surprisingly satisfying.

An interesting adventure full of difficult decisions and moral quandries which are as challenging as they are thought-provoking. The voice-acting is rough for some characters, but the quality of the two main stars Christine and Joe shines through. A traditional yet enjoyable point-and-click adventure.
