These days, I mostly develop and administer for the Open Redstone Engineers [openredstone.org], study for my Computer Science degree, and work for my university. It is important to remember that while chasing a dream of being a CS:GO pro is fun, exciting, and a good experience, it doesn't get in the way of your every day life.

Your efforts in CS:GO and any other game for that matter should be weighed and compared with everything else you do. Sure, try to become pro at a video-game and see how it goes, but do not let it get in the way of your personal life.

I owned CS:GO for roughly 3 years and only started to play it hardcore for 2 years. I did the calculations and for those 2 years, the results are scary.

I ended up playing the game, on average, 42.75 hours per 2 weeks. This equates to roughly 3.05 hours per day. This is time that I could have spent doing school, hanging out with friends, or bettering myself in other hobbies.

CS:GO is fun and playing it itself isn't that bad, just take into consideration what else you are doing with your time. Too much of anything isn't healthy.
