Whilst it's free on mobile, it's well worth spending the money and getting it on a computer if you end up getting addicted to this like me... no ads, better control with mouse and keyboard, DLCs...

For me, this game definitely works best when there are 8+ players and you all interact in a voicechat of some sort. The concepts of this game are quite basic and it's really the human interactions that make it entertaining. Although, if you're playing this alone, there are always online lobbies to play that fill quite quickly within seconds! The cartoon graphics, animations and cosmetics are also quite intriguing and awesome for a good laugh. All of the DLCs for this game are purely cosmetic and add on to the already wide selections from the base game.

However, this game isn't without its problems and the most painful one would be the constant issues encountered from joining game servers. There are almost always issues with players not being able to join a lobby whether it may be due to game servers being down, insufficient game servers, region bugs, or some other unexplainable and unsolvable bug, which really leaves a sour taste in everyones mouth. There are also occasional glitches that do occur during play sessions, but it's nothing significant, and really, expected for these type of games.

The game also lacks variety in map choices and tasks, which is quite noticeable after a while; but there has been new contents slowly coming out as well a whole variety of mods from the community that you can explore - not the mention the many stories, memes, and implications the community indulges itself in...

Despite the negatives, I would still recommend this game, even if you're just a casual gamer looking for something fun and nothing serious for your folks.

So, this game... what do I think about it?

Emily is Away is a pretty good game to waste time with if you are feeling bored one day. The whole game should take around 30min - 60min to finish and after that, you can replay the game as much as you want. Each chapter consists of a conversation taking place every year, starting with 2002 as last year of high school. Each conversation is a social chat, a lot like the ones we would have nowadays on our phone. I like how it brings back the good old pixelated pictures as well as the trusty Windows XP. The custom name and profile picture are very aesthetically pleasing and the achievements this game has comes in as an added bonus too!

I am fairly satisfied with this game, but I do believe there are room for improvements to be made. I managed to find a few broken buttons where the image did not match the hyperlink, so I had to randomly click the screen until I found it. Apart from that, there were no other major glitches or faults.

It would also be nice to have some sort of development in the story plot with the reminders on the bottom of the chat saying things like "Emily will remember that" or "You chose to have a conversation with Emma". I was hoping that it would lead to another conversation or come up later on in the story. Something else that could also be nice would be if we could talk to someone else other than Emily in the game, like Emma, rather than only being able to view their profile.

Emily could have more character traits such as being impatient and saying "hello?" if you have not responded for ages. She could even use a bit more slangs or colloquial language, for instance, 'you' into 'u' or incorrect grammars like 'ive' instead of 'I've'

All in all, Emily is Away is a pretty awesome game, I would rate it 8/10.
