Fun game. Needs more modes for more fun (single player and co-op). Will play more.

End of Q1, need to boost sales a bit and look productive. They just forgot to add beaches to the game before selling the "beach properties".

Looks like it is shaping up to be a nice and refreshed replacement for Dirt Rally 2.0

This game was a perfect candidate for the early access program. A lot of stuff missing, high number of bugs/quirks and as we all know performance issues on certain hardware and certain settings.

The backbone is there and if CS2 development will be anything as CS1 development through the next 5-10 years then this will be a great game in about 12-18 months. Just not now.

I will continue playing since I need that city builder fix and I want to become more familiar with the new mechanics but unfortunately I currently do not recommend the game.

I will update the review when they update the game.

Lets hope they have a "no man sky/cyberpunk redemption arc" in the next 12 months <3

EDIT 31.01.2024 : Still crap and it will take them at least another 3 months for anything worth noting, read the latest word of week and patch notes and you will understand why.

Edit 11.02.2024 : I decided to give it another try. Still a crap load of bugs and one of the big ones is the land value bug. Besides that a huge amount of QoL improvements must be made, animations missing etc etc... If you have the city building itch like me you can spend some time but trust me you will be reminded of the bugs and glitches almost every step of the way.

Edit 25.02.2024 : Ok, I am done testing since my Ryzen 9 5900X is at 100% CPU on 3x speed when I hit 110k citizens. I still have 3/4 of the map to fill out but I have no intent on burning down my cpu/mobo due to the excessive usage.

CO please fix the game and the performance, add missing features and assets, release late content, it has been 4 months since release, Q1 is ending soon considering the amount of bugs still confirmed on the forums and fixes are nowhere to be seen.

Also, check Linus threadripper CS2 video. It should give you a clue how your PC will handle the game (hint: it wont since the CPU for this game is not invented yet).

Edit 01.05.2024 : I do not play the game anymore for above reasons (even though I tried it a couple more times and trust me, not worth the hassle) but just wanted to add this here. After more than 7 months we have "modding beta" which works like crap for most players and "wait for a few more months for the asset importer" announcement.

Also, nice work on removing the most negatively reviewed item on steam (Beachfront DLC which of course HAS NO BEACHES) by "giving it for free" like it was done for the players sake...

Absolute crap fest of a publisher, developer and everything in between.

I mean, CS1 has double the players than CS2, that should give you an idea how great the sequel is.

Edit 08.09.2024 : Almost a year after release, still no asset importer, horrendous amount of bugs and the performance after 100k population still requires a threadripper which also struggles. I can confidently say this is the worst game and biggest scam in my steam library and I have around 500 games.

Good game, definitely recommended.

Even though I suck the game is really good.

Fun and often relaxing game until you really want to get a high score and then becomes stressful when you want to have perfect placements but RNG gods are not on your side.

Great game ruined by greedy and shady publishing company (Paradox) but kept alive by all the modders and workshop artists. Paradox should burn in corporative hell because of their business practices, stupid launcher and unfair relationship with their customers.

P.S. We want Cities Skylines 2!

Great DLC that is not working with my modded save game but new game works fine with around 30ish mods (including TMPE and other "big" mods). Also have around 500ish assets which are all working as intended.

People complaining about new game crashing should check mods. Cheers! :D
