I paused my playthrough to finish Metaphor ReFantazio (this ended up being one of my personal GOTY, showcasing how engaging storytelling and amazing mechanics can keep players invested) and Dragon Age: The Veilguard (even with its very horrible writing felt more engaging at times). Every time I returned to Hogwarts Legacy with an attempt to reignite my excitement, I always find myself putting it down again shortly after.

Growing up with the Harry Potter series, I was really excited when the game was announced, knowing I can finally explore Hogwarts, and exploring the magical world I’d dreamed about for so long felt like fulfilling a childhood fantasy. And in many ways, the game delivered on that promise: the world-building was beautiful, rich, and very detailed. Flying over the castle grounds, weaving between towers, and exploring hidden corridors was really satisfying.

However the longer I played, the magic started to fade. The main story was freaking flat. It’s missing the depth and intrigue that made the Harry Potter series interesting. The writing imo, is uninspired and not strong enough to keep me engaged.

The NPCs were another major letdown. While the environment around them felt alive, they felt dull and robotic without any real personality. They’re missing the quirks and charm that would make them memorable or make me care about their stories.

The fun of exploring couldn't make up for the terrible writing. It’s not a bad game by any means, it just didn’t capture the magic I hoped for. I knowI'm in the minority here. Here's to hoping for some improvement in the sequel!

Nah this game is not for me. But if you enjoy games with auto chess/auto battler elements, maybe this one is for you.

I believe this game will get better as time goes on. But right now? It's a bit rough. Give it a year and see where it goes

Well it was fun while it lasted. There is just no way this game can compete with Smash Bros/Brawhalla. RIP

It's not open world like RuneScape, in this game the world is divided by zones that made of tiles, it's tiny BUT, there's something about it that made it weirdly cozy and relaxing lol

Combat system is not the best tbh! But the game is still in EA, so hoping to see more improvement and changes in the future.

This game can be a huge turn off to newcomers due to it's overwhelming and brutal nature, and its steep learning curve. That's why the WIKI is your best friend!

Fun for a while then it got stale just like every other game in it's nature. Teaming is also a huge problem! New players will have a hard time enjoying this game and imo they better off playing Deceit 2. It's a more fleshed out game.

Despite being an older game, this game is worth it just for the campaign alone. The soundtrack is an absolute banger! Tropico 4 was my first introduction to the game. I decided to check 3 and enjoyed the game and campaign a lot!
