Got this as a gift to play with a friend, but it really wasn't even worth the money they spent. The story mode doesn't really have anything to it and was really boring honestly. The multiplayer felt super half baked, much like the rest of the game.

The scares are cheap, the sound design is of that of a late 2000's flash game and the multiplayer was barely functional most times and didn't give you any kind of direction or phone guy tutorial. There was also this weird audio bug that just caused everything to desync and sound super glitchy and slow, it just wasn't a fun time.

tl;dr it's a bad copy of FNAF: Help Wanted with multiplayer. It wasn't even so-bad-its-fun kinda bad, it was just lame.

If you're looking for a VR Backrooms experience, this isn't really it. It can support VR, sure, but that's about all it does. Trying to read any menus or text in VR is next to impossible. When you're in the main menu, you get your typical 6 degrees of freedom and you're able to walk around the environment. When you go in game, for some reason it goes back to 3 degrees of freedom and you can't physically walk around the environment like any other VR game, the only thing you can do is look around. The player model isn't synced with the controllers, so trying to interact or grab anything can be a chore. This game really started to give me headache trying to play in VR. It genuinely unpleasant.

I'm sure the game is good on desktop mode, and that's most likely the primary appeal of the game, but please don't release it has a VR compatible title if VR only barely functions. It really got my hopes up. I'll likely check the game out again if an update drops for VR to make it a lot better, but until then I really don't recommend this game if you want a Backrooms VR game.

Unless you already have a 3080 or better, this thing is gonna struggle on your system. Running it on a 3060 was fine, it's still portal 1, but it leaves a good bit to be desired. Having DLSS set to Performance made the visual quality suffer with just enough of a boost to get up to 60 fps sometimes. Certainly wasn't expecting such low performance when Quake II RTX and Minecraft RTX run just fine at a stable 60 fps with DLSS at quality. Having to set the DLSS and graphical quality lower defeats the purpose of the showcase of RTX in my opinion, so don't expect decent performance with good visuals unless you have a high end 30 series card or a 40 series card.

Mixed feelings on this one, but I'm gonna recommend this game but ONLY for the killer side of it. It's a lot easier to start off with, and once you learn the ropes and wont get too tough if you lurk around the mid ranks. It's different for everybody though.

Also there's a bunch of cult slashers in this game, but those are locked behind a paywall, but personally I find that every penny is well spent.

For once, I don't have to kill the skeleton who wanted to capture me.

-10/10 would crash for another knife.

A Little boy screamed at my face, nearly taking all the breath outta me, A puppet got upclose and personal to my face, Then a decayed man in a furry suit stole my wallet and pants. Then the man on the phone told me i was gonna be wearing a Furry suit to "scare the customers". And I can see why he said that.

-The moral of the story? Don't play the game if you Don't wanna lose your pants to a decayed man in a furry suit.
