Im a software engineer and built my pc in my dad's garage, so im a very tech savvy individual. It annoys me when people don't even know what ethernet is lmao

That is very true, and it's mildly infuriating. Anytime ive ever experienced bad latency, it was always from a crossplay player. Most often it's tolerable, but other times it's just not. I hope to see the day this is an issue of the past.

if i play without crossplay, i rarely get lag. i feel like a lot of console players have terrible ping because they dont think to buy an ethernet

It might honestly just be their servers. I experience bad ping like 5% of the time I play, and I rarely hear anything about my ping being bad as killer, but it still happens... My internet doesn't change with any highs or lows. It's consistent and solid, so definitely something to do with servers and region distance with people I play with.

im on ethernet as well. i run at 40 ms, most of it is DBD servers, but you no doubt had like 70-90ms
