Starfield is "Bethesda Game in Space."

It's also the first Bethesda game I've played that didn't CTD.

With continuing updates and expansions from Hello Games, including much-needed optimization and graphical improvements, No Man's Sky is definitely able to deliver a rewarding experience.

A fantastic successor to the spirit of the Castlevania 2D games. Improvements and additions have been made to familiar elements: there is a wide variety of food items that restore health, and now also provide a permanent stat boost the first time you eat one. Along with uniquely styled weapons, there are also special moves unique to groups / classes of weapons. Special weapons take the form of shards, which can be refined to increase their effectiveness. NPC given quests, hidden power-ups and rooms, exploration and collecting are all present and satisfying.

So far, the most irritating problem has been that the game will freeze seemingly without cause, forcing me to restart the game. The game has no autosave feature and, while expected from a metroidvania, this does make the frequent crashes very frustrating. Given how well the game's developers responded to criticism and feedback during their development, I think it's safe to say this bug will be addressed.

Edit: Crash issues appear to be resolved!

Oxenfree is a phenomenal example of how some stories can only be told well using the medium of video games. A gripping story alongside characters and relationships that draw the player in, with a sense of urgency that challenges the player to make a choice, even at the risk of making the wrong one. Multiple endings, replay value, and an immersive soundscape come together to give this game a high level of value for your money.

Altogether, this title is a must for anyone who enjoys a strong psychological thriller. Likewise, anyone who's argued for the artistic merits of games will need to experience this.
